Rome: Total War campaign map issue

My Rome: Total War game has suddenly developed a strange problem. It starts up just fine, no problems in the menu, but once I start a campaign game and I'm on the campaign map the screen freezes, goes blank, then reloads and then about 5 seconds later it does the same thing again, and this just keeps repeating over and over. I've tried reinstalling the game, but it didn't help. This only happens on the campaign map, I've played a few custom battles and the battle map works just fine, but I'd really like to play a campaign. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Attach your dxdiag.

Click Start,
in the box above it, type dxdiag > enter,
click the Save all info button,
save it to your desktop,
attach it to your next post.

I'm pretty sure that's what I have in my computer currently. The game used to work just fine on this same computer, it's only recently that it suddenly started doing this.

Since your sound drivers are not listed in the dxdiag, experience says install them all anyway.

If you've upgraded to Win 7 64bit recently, Microsoft will never ever install these for you.

I installed them all, no luck.......any other ideas?

Run Speedfan and post a pic. It will show most temps and voltages.
