Can someone please lead me to the right direction?

So what I want to do is take several units from different mods, move them to another mod folder and make those units available to several factions.
of course all those units should change color according to their factions.

I have found several tutorials but if I can even get a slight description of what I should be doing and what to read/watch would be really beneficial.
after all I am not making a unit from the ground up, all I am doing is ripping different elements from different mods, making them available to other factions and making sure they wont all have the same color-scheme.
and hopefully assign these units to their appropriate region and building.

I hope that the workshop community of R2 would be as helpful as the M2TW one, until now I have asked several times but never even got replied too
note: I have both the assembly kit and pack editor ready to go! I just need to know where I am going lol.
