I guess you are playing as the HRE? Here are a few threads that you might find useful:

Other than that, check this google search for more.
Hey ...
The Teutonic Knights Chapter House will be available in certain regions for the HRE (Holy Roman Empire) ... "Hamburg" as example. But in the past some others here reported the problem, that they never appear!
To solve the problem ... go to your "Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\data" or "Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.4\data" folder and search for the EDB (export_descr_buildings.txt).
Simply open it with notepad and search for "building teutonic_knights_chapter_house" and change the following lines from old to new...
old
teutonic_knights_minor_ch requires factions { hre, } and hidden_resource teutonic_knights_chapter_house and not event_counter inquisition 1
new
teutonic_knights_minor_ch requires factions { hre, } and hidden_resource teutonic_knights_chapter_house
old

save it and now you're able to build the chapter house once you reached the certain settlement level!![]()
Ok found it. 2 questions, is it considered a guild or a regular building? And will the change take effect in my current save?
Also would building it even allow me to recruit the good units, since I'm at 1225 now?
Looking at them the cavalry seems to just be a reskinned feudal knight unit, but the infantry looks awesome.
Since the 6.4 update from SS it is considered to be a regular building!
Only these both units (Ritterbruder and Dismounted Ritterbruder) are available for HRE from the teutonic order ... and boths will be available once you upgrade your settlement to large city or citadel. so this had nothing to do, which year you actually reach in your campaign!
Both units are also only in the major chapter house available (in the minor one only the Ritterbruder) ... and both have their origins from the official teutonic campaign that ships out with kingdoms. but both were also re-skinned, do the fact that pure white clothes aren't really available in medieval times. so both textures (as well as the rest from the teutonic units) looks much more dirty in linen garment.
hope this answers your questions?
Yeah, I meant statwise, the cavalry is equal to feudal cavalry but the foot soldier has 12 attack, more than a feudal foot knight.
are you sure ?? ...
feudal knights
stat_pri 7, 12, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, spear, 60, 1
stat_pri_attr no
stat_sec 11, 5, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, sword, 15, 1
ritterbruder
stat_pri 9, 14, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, spear, 60, 1
stat_pri_attr no
stat_sec 14, 5, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, sword, 15, 1
...
anyhow to clear this things out too ... feudal knights were like the name says "Feudal"
Ritterbruder (knight brothers in english) were the exceptional elite of the teutonic order (not like Halbbruder (half brothers)) ... religious order knights and more fanatic like! Only German nobility could join the order as Ritterbruder!
After they conquered Prussia (with permission from the pope to build up also their own state there), a continuously crusade (warfare) against Lithuania and other pagan tribes in the Baltic states area were held. So this order knights were most experienced warriors, very well equipped and fearsome in battle! Mostly they were dreaded, because of her abominable things against the pagan population. "Convert to Catholicism or die" were the motto! But some historical resources reported they did not often ask the population and kill mostly everyone as well as looting everything what they needed!
Google for it and you will get plenty of sources for the Teutonic Order!![]()
Hm, either I misread the Faust, or was looking at some other less accurate source.
Don't forget that in the Late Campaign, Teutonic chapter houses are not available for construction at all for the HRE. Just in case you didn't know.
What about after the order emerges as a faction in early campaign? Does that effect anything or are they still buildable and recruitable?
