I am looking for some help in designing a type of multiplayer campaign for MTW2 using the VASSAL Engine.
For those of you who do not know what the VASSAL Engine is:
VASSAL ENGINEVASSAL is a game engine for building and playing online adaptations of board games and card games. Players move and manipulate game pieces via the mouse while typing accompanying text. Moves can be recorded into a log file and stepped through one at a time for email play. During live Internet play, all moves and text are automatically broadcast to other players in real time.
Some key points:
~It will NOT be trying to recreate the single-player campaign exactly. Would be way to much work. Right now probably only focus on production (simplified) of army units, movement of armies, unit experience ... and maybe some others - the rules are not yet completed.
~The VASSAL engine is just for campaign things. All battles will be fought inside MTW2 game as historical battles*
*Assuming you can still do historical battles in MTW2, this allows different unit sizes and unit casulty numbers to carry over after battles (you make a new historical battle for each battle).
~At this point the number of players this is suitable for would be low (2-4) in my mind, but who knows...
Many other things are up for debate but im not looking to discuss it all here. What I AM looking for is help with VASSAL, making rules, and art for campaign map.
