Nice videogood work. In my opinion Umbers, Dustins and Sisterman should get one or two settelments
Nice preview I love Toho's map! However I think we need to smooth the coastlines and redraw the border for all factions to make them look rounder, especially around rivers things seem to mess up.. anyways I can fix that over a day if you send me the work in progress mod!
And as you said, this campaign will be a bloodbath![]()

Post updates in thread as well as on op plz![]()
I can if you want, but I always hated having to search through the thread for previews, especially when the threads get long. Still, I can start doing that if you guys want
.
As for Valyria, this is hundreds (if not thousands) of years before the Freehold was even established. I also made an effort to give each House at least three settlements (with a few exceptions) as otherwise they would be too under-powered.
Lore-wise, House Hoare were Andals who conquered the Iron Islands, but later converted to the Drowned God. I have them Banefort because it is the natural starting-point for their invasion of the Iron Islands. I may include a script that gives it back to Reyne if the invasion is successful.
House Tully and Darry will be in it, and will play prominent roles, but they will not get their own factions as I am reserving the last slot for possibly including either the Faith Militant or some other group in a later release.
I had originally planned to give Flint's Finger to the Dustins, but I decided to give it to Mudd for a few reasons. Firstly, Mudd needed more killing power for their invasion of the Riverlands, and secondly I wanted Dustin focused entirely on the Starks, and outmatched just enough to need the Bolton's help in taking on the Starks. Besides, Hoare/Greyiron will probably take it eventually.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! The next seven days are going to be Finals Hell for me, but after that I'm free to resume work apace!
I think you would have to go an extra 1000 or so yrs for them not to be established and not have andals as major factors. As for Valyria, this is hundreds (if not thousands) of years before the Freehold was even established. I also made an effort to give each House at least three settlements (with a few exceptions) as otherwise they would be too under-powered.
Spoiler from a dance with dragons
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Thats a time frame for the Andals landing then there is a valyrian freehold reference time frame in a storm of swords, which would be before this reference. To go to the the extreme measures of salting the ground like Rome did Carthage there had to be a few wars and long ones at that.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Danny is a pretty smart girl so her being 1,2 thousand years off would be quite a stretch in her POV. I cant imagine a "freehold" lasting some 5000 years in terms of real history but thats what the valyrians appeared to do ofc they also had dragons and magic.
For this mod lore they can just be off fighting the remnants of ghis in lands the first men know nothing about..Because they certainly wouldn't have made it as far west as dragonstone bc i believe they defeated Rhoyne and the queen 1000 yrs or so before aegon's landing. I don't have a source on that.
On a side note i remember reading and completely agreeing with Tyrion when he wonder why they didn't go farther west then Dragonstone.
Anyways looking forward to this mod, and good luck with your finals.
Lol, thanks! One thing I like is that all of the historical time periods are very vauge (in the Middle Ages things were the same way), and nobody knows exactly when all of these things happened. As such, I'm leaving the time period vauge beyond simply saying that it is during the Andal conquest, and Valyria is not a player. Beyond that I'm hesitant to specify in more depth.
Re: House Hoare, you may need to "encourage" them to invade the Iron Islands, as the M2TW AI tends not to use sea invasions unless it has to, and is much more likely to just stay on the mainland.
Make it either so that they start with one Island? Fair Isle/Harlaw or paint one pixel of Baneforts RGB bordering a Greyiron region. Otherwise I think they will go against Rayne or Blackwood
"Får jag kalla dig Bajen? Det är lättare att komma ihåg..."
Yep or script some sort of invasion or something.
I might just do that (give them an island). Ill make a wooden castle on Saltcliff or something, and say that the invasion is in progress. This should give Reyne a bit more of a boost and will hoefully give Hoare more incentive to attack Greyiron.
excellent work so far sir. If I do say though, I never understood why the name Stormkings was never changed to Durandon or whatever it is; the name just doesn't fit with the House-named factions. Also, perhaps you could just take a small amount of land from the Hightowers/Gardeners and make a small little castle that would be the Faith Militant military headquarters; I don't expect they would plan inquisitions and massacres in the Sept of the Stars anyhow hahaha and it would provide an interesting check to the obvious powers in the Reach
I will definetly re-name the Durandons, but I'm still not sure about the Faith Militant. We have one faction slot left open, and I'd like to keep it that way so that we can add a new faction (possibly Faith Millitant) in 2.0. I agree the Reach should have more of a check, but I'm mostly just hoping that Hightower and Gardener wipe each other out while other factions nibble at their lands.
Just some suggestions for consideration:
The North:
The Starks - Ruling the NW and center of the North (Winterfell, Cerwin, Deepwood Motte)
The Boltons - Ruling the SE part of the north including maybe Wolf's Den (Just a regular castle)
The Umbers - Ruling Last Heath, and Karhold (not called Karhold at this time)
The Barrow Kings - They would rule the Barrowlands plus Rills (Maybe Flint's Finger?).
+The Manderlys - White Harbor. Hard to skip these guys - biggest settlement and most strategic port in the North.
The Riverlands:
The Mudds - Ruling from Oldstones (which would have a cooler name as the books say the name "Oldstones" came later). They could control Seaguard, Fairmarket, and the Twins area (there were no Twins yet).
The Blackwoods - Caught between Mudd and Bracken, ruling Riverrun (just a regular castle right now).
The Brackens - They would have the option of assimilating to the Andals and getting new troops etc.
The Mootons- These would be Andal invaders, ruling the eastern Riverlands from Maidenpool. Truce with Darklyns, trying to conquer the Riverlands.
The Crownlands:
The Darklyns - Andal Invaders ruling most of the Crownlands from Duskendale.
The Crabbs - I'm not sure about them, as their arms don't appear, but otherwise the Darklyns could get too OP. They would be Andal Invaders ruling Crackclaw Point.
The Masseys - They would rule Masseys Hook, plus maybe Blackwater Bay. They are apperantly an "ancient" house, but apart from they they are mostly just there to fill in an empty area.
The Vale:
The Arryns - They rule the Eryie and a bit of the coast, but they have yet to hold sway over the whole Vale
The Royces - They rule the First Men Houses, scattered in the north and south of the Vale. Gulltown would just be a town or large town. They would maybe get help from the Mountain Clans.
The Three Sisters - They would rule the sisters, plus maybe Wolf's Den.
The Iron Islands:
The Greyirons - They rule all of the Islands, but some of their forces may defect to the Hoars (see Westerlands).
+The Harlaws - Very powerful and strategically placed island of Harlaw, which is most populous and wealthy of them all. They should have been independent back then.
The Westerlands:
The Lannisters - Ruling Lannisport/Casterly Rock, and Golden Tooth. They are the richest House, but are sandwitched between two big scary foes.
The Reynes - They hold the northern coast (minus Banefort) and have an alliance with the Tarbecks to Crush the Lannisters.
The Tarbecks - They rule the southern part of the Westerlands, including Silver Hill and Crackhall. They have a pact with the Reynes to crush the Lannisters.
The Hoares - Andal Invaders/crusaders temporarily based in Banefort. They have a truce with the Westerlands so they can conquer the Iron Islands (which they are in the process of doing). Maybe a script in which they can choose whether or not to adopt the Old Ways?
The Reach:
The Gardeners - They rule the upper Mander and are probably the most powerful Kingdom in Westeros. They are also surrounded by enemies.
The Hightowers - They rule the southern Reach, focused around Oldtown
The Redwynes - I'm not sure if there's cannon on this, but it would make sense for them to be independent.
The Manderlys - It would be cool to include them, but I'm not sure where they would be or how it would work. They would probably rule the upper Mander to prevent the Gardners from getting too powerful early on. Plus, there could be a script where, if they are wiped out, the Starks could spawn a stack of their troops near Wolf's Den and have it re-named White Harbor (a bit ambitious, but maybe for 2.0).
The Faith Millitant (?) - Not sure where they would rule from as the Hightowers would hold Oldtown. Still, it could be cool to include them...Cool, but doesn't seem plausible. I can't see this working in well...
The Stormlands:
The Durrendons - They rule most of the northern Stormlands.
The Volmonts- Also known as the Vulture Kings, they would rule the Dornish Marches. Decent power, but very weak position, as they are caught between Gardner, Durrendon, Eastermont, and Yornwood.
The Eastermonts - They would rule most of Cape Wrath, Eastermont, and Tarth. One of the best navies in Westeros, but weak on land.
Dorne:
The Martells - They rule the eastern coast, with one of the larger cities.
The Ullers - They rule the Desert from Hellholt.
The Yornwoods - They rule the Northern Mountain passes.
+The Daynes - Rulers of the Western Mountains (Capital: Starfall. Settlements: Blackmont & High Hermitage).
I love the idea of this submod! I look forward to subjugating all of Westeros under the Crabb King's Iron Claw!

Lol, totally! I really would like to see some let's plays of Westeros being united under the Crab or Sea Turtle.
As for House Dayne, I considered it, but I decided sticking more settlements in their area would be way too crowded. Also, it nerfa Yronwood too much. Really my hope with Starfall is that they will force Yronwood out of their mountain passes and into the desert where Uller can take them on.
I like how Dance wrote the Manderlys into the North and completely ignored that they were in The Reach already.
Hey, so I made this website for a class and it contains the previews on it. I could use the traffic, so: http://www.thrawnsmods.co.nr/.
