Rotating a Centurions Crest?

Hello guys, I am currently reskining a roman centurion and is looking quite good but I do have a question in Drazans centurion reskin he was able to rotate a centurion crest 90 degrees to run across the helmet as it should, would enyone be able to give me a quick run through on how this was achieved, because unless the can sort the crest the reskin is kind of pointless in my eyes :/ thanks in advance
