    Default New Comp problems

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=64213

    Well, im having a huge problem. Im typing this from my old pc that i've had to reconnect. My new pc loads fine up until the xp loading screen where it goes to a blue screen for about a milisecond before restarting. The blue screen goes too fast for me to see all the text, but by concentration, adfter about 20 restarts i've worked out this part of the message:

    A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    What the hell is going wrong? My new pc has been working fine up until now, what could have caused it to go wrong?

    well that blue screen is called as
    blue screen of death {nothing to worry about }
    the many reasons can cause tht {mostly hardware , i used to have lot of bsd on my amd but them i shifted to intel .}
    but primarily its due to faulty ram module or improper installation.
    so have u tried interchanging ram modules {or sockets}.

    while installing xpo did u noticed any error or the installation was smooth ?

    the best way to deal with bsd is uninstalling every hardware
    then installing each hardware one by one {checking booting after each installation} .

    well i am sorry then
    u said it all began with usb malufunctioning .??
    but i dont think its driver problem >

    install only minimal hardware and boot > {mobo and ram only through onboard video}
    and then add others hardwares one by one

    It didn't begin with USb malfunctioning, it began with this problem, which a reinstall fixed, but only temporarily it looks like.

    Lusted,

    I built a system of similar spec at around the same as urs... After working 2/3 weeks with no problems I also started getting some blue screens and some weird failure messages during shut down/start up. Initially I thought it was incompatibility/corrupt raid drivers of mobo or some driver conflicts with Norton Security Center (I use it in my PC).

    However I figured out that the problem was with NVIDIA drivers version 91.31... I uninstalled all drivers from my hard disk and reinstalled the latest version which so far has been working fine ;-) I think there is a compatibility problem with their old nView Desktop Manager... not sure though !!!

    Sounds like a hardware problem.

    Jegui also got a point, did you install the same drivers on both installation? Maby you should install some new drivers.

    You can try to see if you can get into safe mode (Press F8 continuously when your computer starts up), from there you might be able to open system restore and restore your computer to an earlier date. Since your installation is so new, you should just do a complete reinstall if safe mode don't work.

    Low voltage on the power supply or overheating possibly?

    Smells like conflicting drivers. Boot up into safemode, and delete all your drivers, then boot up, and see if it works, and reinstall them.

    Well it happened again, and this time i wiped my hdd before reinstalling stuff, im downloading the latest version of all drivers to prevent a conflict issue.

    Oh, and when it was crashing, safe mode didn't work either.

    Right, i think i've tracked it to a driver issue, probably related to the monitor. Installing the latest nvidia drivers made my comp not load properly. Is there soem sort of an incompatibility issue between my monitor, a Samtron 76e, and my gpu, a 7900GT.

    Try reinsert the graphics card, or start the computer with no USB devices connected

    Did you have your Nvidia card installed while loading the OS? I had a similar problem corrected by installing the card after everything else. I'm still not sure why it happened, but thats what it was. It's probably my paranoia, but I never have a vid card installed until the OS is up and running.

    it is always recomended to use partitions
    i have two os
    linux and xp
    but both are on different partitions
    and each drive for os contain only os files and drivers nothing else
    absolutely nothing

    they are pretty useful for crisis like this
    u can format the os partition
    from dos mode
    and install os in that partition

    Updating a computer can be difficult Lusted, I would install all the orginial components and only update the OS and leave the graphics alone. I have never been a fan of updating component drivers as if the system aint broke dont fix it. Good luck and post back your status. I can only say that it has to be some driver issue as your computer has worked before. Think of what you have changed and undo it.
