What about the increased build/recruit times?

Increased recruitment times are due to real recruitment mod. They affect the ai and the player. I'm not aware of increased building times, but then I have not played vanilla for the best part of a decade.

Only version V of BGR has features like supplies, weather, foraging etc that also affect the AI. It can only do that by first negating many of the bonuses that the player gets against the AI.

Ok so in SS 6.4, launcher allows you to play with BGR 2: in this one, it only affects the player?

Well, Indirectly it affects both because it was created to prevent human player exploits by adding realistic features that contain difficulty and gameplay enhancements.

Without bgrII a player can site his army indefinitely on an impregnable defensive position wait until all available ai armies that attack it have been defeated, then move on the nearest settlement and take it virtually unopposed. The AI cannot do this because it was not programmed to and the human player would not fall for it anyway. Foraging and supplies effectively reduce this player only exploit making the game more equal.

BgrIV uses the same strategy, but countering many more player only exploits with more challenging features for the player.

BGRV counters or outright removes so many player exploits that the game becomes difficult, so difficult that it can afford to apply some of the interesting features to the AI as well so that the player can, for example, perform a scorched earth policy in the path of invading AI armies, weakening them before a counterattack. A player could also take advantage of an AI army that is, for example, acclimatised to heat invading a player territory in winter against player troops acclimatised to a cold weather climate.

I toggle off Real Recruitment in the configurator however I still have to wait 5-9 turns to recruit most of the units. Seems like a bug. My version is 6.4
There is no logic in this because even retraining units makes them unavailable to recruit.
    How can I disable this?

I noticed BGR V is only avilable in late era. Any plans to change that?

No. It is finished as far as I'm concerned. Don't use BGRV if you are new to this game though.

Ps. There is a thread for small questions like the ones you often ask and in the submods sections there are threads for the submods too.
