I lost the game because another faction won??

So I was playing a short campaign of Kislev today, and out of the blue, around turn 40. Ostland wins the game.

It gave me a dialogue that I can continue playing or just quit.

This has never happened before, and I've done a fair amount of playthroughs. So I'm not sure how another faction won before Chaos Undivided even occurred.

Also what happens if another faction wins? Will the scripted events occur normally like Chaos Undivided?? Cause I'm still willing to play without being able to 'achieve total victory'.

Just continue playing. It matters not. The scripts will function normally.

Yeah same happened to my Chaos campaign.. Dwarves just won the game around turn 50. Still got the Undivided event when I met the conditions tho.

What are conditions ? i need to conquer the all chaos nations or somehting else also need to be done ? my 1st time as chaos .

Yeah, destroy all other Chaos factions and the event will happen. ( Not Heresy Factions )

Oh okay, so this is a bug that other people are experiencing as well. Well I'm just gonna play on then, I guess you stop playing your campaign until you've repelled chaos undivided/or just get bored and roll a new campaign.

Well it's not a bug, AI factions get a lot of spawned armies and they gain a lot of terrain in the 2nd turn. Chances are quiet big you'll lose the campaign to an AI faction because of this.

If I lose a campaign to the AI, I set my own goals.

Well I dont see how this could be an intentional outcome that was put in by the devs, why set campaign victory goals, if other factions win? I know that this could never happen in vanilla M2TW, and if it did, it would have to be around turn 100+.

It's not a bug, and a consequence is not a bug, it's a problem or difficulty with the game that makes it not function correctly.
Quite simply in the MW2:TW code ai can in but don't have separated victory conditions. On short, Nordland, Stirland, Ostermark wins consistently for me. On long Dwarves, simply take one of their karaks. (Zhufbar for south, any in north, is easiest.)

If you're comfortable with minor text editing, then you can always edit the victory conditions in the file descr_win_conditions. That way you can prevent some factions from almost automatically winning. I added in a list below of which vanilla factions represent which Warhammer factions. You'll need that info to edit the file.
