The Emperor being informed of his wife's death? Or his son's death?

Purely looking at the information in the picture I would say something like this too. The way its drawn although, doesn't fuel this thought.

Honestly, based on how they're dressed I'd date it to closer to the 1840-50s . . . not the early 1900s. I searched for a while, but couldn't come up with any events from that time period with said picture though :/.

Good ! Indeed it is the scene where the french diplomat gives Wilhem I the so called "Emser Depesche", thus leading to the French-Prussian War of 1870, resulting in the foundation of Germany (kinda).

Sorry for the long absence, your go

I did indeed cut a tiny bit off because that was the title naming the event which would ruin the fun. And since this is a tough one, I'll give you a hint: think of 16th century Europe

Maybe something from the Orange revolt against Spain? I can't for the life of me find this actual image . . .

It's in my history exam of last month
But you're correct however the orange revolt (better known as 80-years war or Dutch war of independence) lasted 80 years, so be a bit more precise

That text on the stone is near damn unreadable but this is clearly some trial of sorts. But it says something about gidil de raiz? Who would be gilled de rilez (might get his name wrong) the guy that raped all the children. So his trial?

I believe that this is Name that Historical Event, not Name that Battle which is a separate thread, Puddingkip.

But anyway, I believe this is the battle of Gaugamela and depicts the moment Darius drives his chariot away from Alexander's forces.
