    Aye, though we still got us our Constitution! Got our domestic affairs in order, and then finally in 1905 we were allowed to think for ourselves. Most of us still don't, but now we're at least legally responsible for our own actions...

    Exactly, it's the opening session of the General Estates! The painter included several famous personalities, like Robespierre, Mirabeau and Michel Gérard (probably the only guy without a wig), the only peasant that participated in the event.
