SS 6.4 CTD Battle/AI turns

I have experiencing problems with SS 6.4, I sometimes get a crash to desktop when;

-It is a AI's factions turn(doesn't matter which faction or turn)

-Or the loading screen for a campaign battle (If I put my graphics to the bare minimum it doesn't CTD, I think it mainly crashed from the "texture" or "texture filtering" setting)... but during a custom battle my computer can handle high graphic settings with no problem.

- I attached the "system.log.txt" file hoping this will help - system.log.txt

-when it crashed during the AI's turn it says: " Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit."

-when it crashes due to campaign battles it shows " fatal graphics error"(but can be avoided by lowering graphics)

xRossTheBossx -try updating your kingdoms verson to 1.05.
Currently you're using 1.04.

It'll need a complete fresh re-install from scratch.
Hopefully that might help.

But it's possible your system can't quite handle the graphics.
So playing on lower detail settings or smaller unit numbers might also help.

SS6.4 also a few bugs that might cause problems - check the bug fixes thread once you've upgraded your kingdoms (its a free download) and re-installed SS6.4

when i run my Britannia expansion, in the options it says that it is version 1.05, so why would the log file say it is version 1.04?

But as I said earlier I get whole lot less errors

thanks I will try now, if it helps I played this with a computer with worse graphics, and it didn't get a crash after a factions turn.

but the weird thing is why could my computer handle high graphics on custom battle, but when it comes to a campaign battle, it crashes?

Well I have reinstalled Medieval 2 and SS altogether by turning off UAC and running the program as a administrator,(I have windows8)
1. by installing Medieval 2 total war
2. Then Teutonic expansion from the kingdoms expansion
3. applied kingdoms update patch 1.05
4. then installed Stainless Steel 6.3
5. applied "SS6.3_installation_patcher_v.2.5.exe" http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...l-6-3-Released
6. then installed SS 6.4 update

*As a result I got significantly less errors, and now there isno crash during the AI's turn! (but every once in a while I'll still get a error message when i start a battle)

If you have WIN8, its best to install SS outside of Program Files, where is it installed?

well first time, I installed it in my downloads, but this time installed it in program files(x86)

I understand that with Win8, you cannot completely disable, therefore files can be misplaced. I would suggest you remove SS, clean up and defrag, then install outside of program files, as long as SS and MTW2 are on same drive all is ok
