Default Changing the color of a unit.

So, I've been working on a submod for DeI. I've changed up the Spartan sword units, renaming them, and changing their equipment and descriptions. I've run into a slight snag though. I've changed the Periokoi Thorakitai into Spartiatai Machairophorai, edited their equipment, and changed their description, and when I loaded into the game, it all apeared fine. Except for the fact that it was grey. I figured, no big deal, I'll just extract the unit_variants_colors_table, add a line in the spa_units_variants_colors tsv for gre_thorax_sword, and be done with it. Unfortunately, after doing that, when I try to load up my .pack, the game crashes. Not only that, but when I went to check the changes that I made, suddenly I couldn't even open the table, it's just showing a grey screen for me. Any ideas what might be causing it?

Edit: So, I updated my copy of the PFM, repeated the steps, and voila, the game loaded! So, I went into a custom battle to test it, but the colors on the unit hadn't changed. Curious, I exited the game, then loaded up my mod again. Lo and behold, I suddenly can't edit any db file, they now all appear in red. I even opened some of CA's .packs, and they too appear in red... so I have no idea whats going on.

Ok firstly is your Pack Manager schema up to date? I assume it is since you were only just working on your mod without problems. Only other thing I can think of is maybe at the top of the menu where it says "game" perhaps its been changed accidentally from R2TW to possibly Shogun 2 (STW) since that would certainly show all your db files in red.

As to changing colours for a unit you need to set it up as a variant and also create an entry in unit_variants_colours under unit_variant_colour_tables.

As to the grey units be careful when editing equipment since if you make a typo error you can end up with invisible or grey parts. Grey usually happens to me when I mistype a texture path or something. To be honest I often find when altering the variant mesh definitions for units if I do it in pack manager something typically screws up so I do it all in notepad and copy and paste.

I managed to sort of fix it... I got the colors sorted out, but every time I edit a db file, save, and then close the PFM, I find myself unable to edit anymore db files without reinstalling the PFM. It's doable, just very time consuming to have to re-extract it from the .zip after every modification.
