Class system, kinda

I've heard there's akind of class system in MTWII, where you can only recruit so many particular unit types (eg knights) etc depending on size of the population type in the settlement .. I guess?).

Is that true? what are the restrictions to recruit units


... or is the demo only a few battles?

demo is historical battles apparently, yes there is a class system bascially so ai and players are more likely to field balanced armies

thats good, it wouldnt make sense if your armies contained nothing else but knights.

well if there is a class system, hopefully theres an option for it, if not, we have modders like you guys to destroy zee class system!

its so that the ai will not be able to field stacks of peasant armies, unless you like that kind of thing?

its not going to stop the player really from just stacking the same units, but it will take time and they will have to draw those elite units from across your empire, which i think is realistic and innovative

There is a limited number of recruitable units in each city/castle, there might be a forcepool og 3 units of foot spearmen, and one unit og knights and two foot swordsmen for instance. You might call this a class system, I like it.
