Installation Troubles

I had tatw with divide and conquer, but wanted MOS instead. I deleted Medieval 2 and Third Age, and redownloaded it. Some features of Dac was still there, and the game crashed. If anyone could tell me how to get a totally clean version of third age, that would be wonderful.

1. What Windows do you have?

2. Is your M2TW a steam or non steam version?

3. Have you downloaded all four TATW Parts+Patches all up to 3.2 version?

4. Can you start a campaign in your M2TW, and, in any of your Kingdoms campaigns?

3. Yes I have, but when I downloaded Patch 3.2 and loaded it up, it would still show version 3.0.
4. I can start a campaign on M2TW and in the kingdoms.

Go here ( LINK ) it is a thread with pictures for the installation, and these steps are the ones you need to do:

1) Edit Security for your main M2TW folder ( Or, use the TakeOwnership.reg method), unhide hidden folders, and, check VirtualStore folder for:
Program Files or Program Files(x86)/Medieval 2 Total War folder, and, delete Medieval 2 Total War folder if you find it there!

2) Then, remove/delete Third Age TW files which you already installed in your main M2TW/ mods folder ( just delete Third_Age_3 folder ).

a) open your main M2TW folder, right mouse click in the Address Bar and press: Copy address as text.

b) replace the Default Installation path in ALL TATW Installers with this one you have just copied ( Copy address as text ):

just select the Default installation path, right mouse click and press PASTE to replace it with the location of YOUR main M2TW Folder .

4) For battle Crashes Disable/turn off daylight saving settings, if you have Windows 7 or Vista, go to Control Panel, Clock, Date and Time, Change the time zone, Change time zone, uncheck `Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Savings time`. Hello, I'm sorry, but I tried reinstalling Medieval 2 again before I got this reply, and now I can't start a campaign there either.

1. Uninstall M2TW/ Kingdoms.

2. and then do these steps to remove it completely from your Registry: http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...l-II-Total-War

3. Use some good Registry Cleaner ( like CCleaner, it is free ) to completely delete any leftovers BEFORE installing M2TW again.

Note! I would advise to install M2TW anywhere else, just not in your Program Files or Program Files (x86) folders. Maybe in Games folder.

It didn't work. The medieval 2 installer didn't even download the kingdoms campaigns.

What do you mean by Kingdoms campaigns not downloaded? Where are you downloading them from?

When I would download, it would always ask if I want to dowload Britannia Americas Teutonics and Crusades but it just skipped that part.

What files are we talking about: TATW Installers, or some TATW submod files?

What Internet browser did you use for downloading them?

Usually invalid data message means that you need to re download those files. Do not use Internet Explorer for downloading files, it has some problem. And, while downloading, don't surf the Internet, or play games on your PC.
