    Increasing texture range pop-ins is definitely the cheapest way to increase performance, thus CA is using it, a lot.

    That is true, but based on the feedback, I have not seen a big amount of people recognizing this for their game... so am I too mean?

    I think it's because mostly everyone is pretty much use to it. I remember that the level of unit detail was lowered for each setting when CA increased the performance for Shogun 2 (way after the DX11 patch). Now, they introduced the same thing into Rome 2 as well.

    ^ I agree that bodies should dissapear to an extent, especially since they clip together so there is a load of calcs being done for detal you cant see because 1) its lying on the grounds and 2) it is inside a number of other bodies so you couldnt see it anyway. After a minute bodies that clip a certain volume of their body should dissapear.
