The Black Fleet gathered off Oakenshield over a period of days, the summons having gone out to every Captain and every Lord. To the assembled Captains, Ramsay spoke, standing at the prow of a grounded longship to the assembly of men on the beach.

"Welcome, captains and sailors! The Black Fleet gathers in it's terrifying fullness to sail to glorious war! We go north, to the Iron Islands, where allies of House Blackswain are embattled by opportunistic vassals! We sail at first light, and will meet the Greyiron Fleet on Orkmont, where we'll then find and smash the foe!"

A cheer of approval went up, the sailors relishing the battle to come. At one hundred and sixty two ships of all sizes, the Black Fleet was vast and imposing, and would easily be the match of whatever fleet the rebels could cobble together. Alongside the loyalist forces of Greyiron, the combined fleets would be unmatched. In a chain of islands, control of the sea would grant victory.

First light arose the next day, and a flurry of activity erupted. Ships were readied, sails unfurled, oars manned, provisions stored, and the fleet sailed north, to war.
