Is this normal?

I got the demo.
AMD Athlon 64 2800+ 2.2Ghz (3200+ speeds)
1GB ddr 400
x800xl 256MB

I run the demo
1024x768 ALL MEDIUM (Shadows, grass, bloom, reflection all OFF) (no AA or AF)...vsync off
I run agincourt battle and my performance is horrid. 20FPS. Is this the final version in the demo? I couldnt see anything truely special about it. The terrain looked better, but units didnt differ much from RTW.

Any ideas as to whats wrong? I run RTW maxed 2000+ man battles.....the CA guys said if you can run RTW ,axed then medium shouldnt be an issue.

well i got a
3800amd 64
1gb ram
geforce 5900XT

Can run most stuff on med/high without lagg but no aa and that other a something and no shadows, Well i gotta say rome look better lol

Eh... "no lag" is completely subjective.. No lag to you is probably a slideshow to me.

I play/played a lot of FPS's, anything under 60FPS begins to bother me.

Well, as for not looking much better than R:TW, probably because you have eye candy off and medium settings.

How many units are running around anyway?

I used to have a X800XL, couldn't cut it. It was a terrible OC'er too, just got too hot (even with a Arctic Cooler 5 on it and some AS5 thermal compound). I'd hate to say it, but you could probably sell your GPU and pick up a X1900GT/XT or 7900GS/GT/GTO

2-3k men or so~~ Well i got no problem playing battles on highest settings in rome with 6-7k soldiers so lets hope i can do bigger battles in this game also. But i doubt it my card ussualy dont do much good with newer games.

Cant really buy new stuff since i aint got a work atm

Well i dont really care about graphics generaly i can still sit down and play good ol dark omen and enjoy it ^^

Im assuming you went and bought the magazine Snarf, because if you didn't it would make you the biggest hypocrite in the known world with all your barking at people who were downloading it.

I run M2TW better than RTW:BI. With RTW I wasn't able to go above 2000 troops without lag. in this, I fought agincourt and plavia perfectly.

I played MTW2 demo on low seeting then play it in almost high the graphic is completly different there's alot in difference.

I went to everything maximum...full AA and AF...still 20FPS lol
My CPU bottlenecks me at 20FPS..bah

I swear to god its like my system deaDLOCKED AT 20FPS.
