Game doesn't start after the launcher

So hello everyone, first of all I would like to say that I'm not a native English speaker, so please be indulgent if I make any mistakes. Also, after trying to search for a thread that could maybe be useful to me (unfortunately not fruitful), I precise that I am a Steam user and that I run Windows 7.

That being said, I have encountered an issue today and I would like to see if anyone here can help me solve it.

So I have been running the mod Third Age for a couple of weeks now and didn't have any issue with the game (except maybe some crashes but the game still worked after so it didn't really matter). However today, after changing some value in the "descr_settlement_mechanics" document (located in mods > Third Age > data file), well the first time I launched the game it worked perfectly well, but at some point the game crashed, and now when I try to start the game I have this issue :

On the launcher, when I select the appropriate mod name (and of course click on it to start it), the launcher shut (and make the appropriate sound that it used to do when it shut) but nothing happen after : the game didn't answer, even the other mod don't work now (the other mod of the Kingdoms extension I mean). I have try to get back to the former value but it didn't change anything.

I would like to thank you any people that can bring me any solution.

Hello there and welcome to TWC Forums!

Go here (LINK ) and apply the first step explained: Edit Security for your main M2TW folder. After that, verify Steam game cache and try again.

Have you changed the name of the folder where TATW is installed ( Third_Age_3)? The name of the folder must not have spaces in between: For example, Third_Age_3 is good, Third Age 3 is not good.

If this is not relevant, then you can try few more things before reinstalling TATW:

1. Delete map.rwm file found in ..M2TW\ mods\ Folder where Third Age 3.2 is installed\ data\ world\ maps\ base folder.

2. Go to ..M2TW\ mods\ Folder where Third Age 3.2 is installed \ data\ text folder and delete .strings.bin files :

3. a) just start some campaign in your M2TW with any faction of your choice ( it doesn`t matter which one ),
b) and after that exit M2TW.

I would have like to try these to see if it worked, but unfortunately I have already uninstall it to see if reinstalling the game will work. ^^ So as you recommanded, I will follow these steps.
