Hi everyone!

I can. What is your Windows version?
Do you have the right disc in the drive?
Are you logged in as Administrator?
Have you disabled the UAC?
What disc? Is medieval 2 cd reliant when i install kingdoms?
What is UAC?
You need the medieval2.exe to play vanilla. launcher.exe only works half assed and not worth a damn since CA released it with the 1.2 patch.

What does a simple search say?
After you install Kingdoms, you put the M2 CD in and always use that.
Be carfeul to launch medieval.exe and not kingdoms.exe. Also do not use the launcher.
If all problems comtinue download the mod retrofit, as that is like vanilla except on kingdoms.exe.

Everytime I open the original game, it always appear:
What shall I do?
Disable the UAC, yet? It cures 90% of these. You have to be logged in as Administrator to do so.
Have you taken ownership/control of C: drive, yet? http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...-shortcut.html
You have to be logged in as Administrator and apply it to your login account to make this work.
Is there no other way?
It says:
WARNING, DO NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP of the C: (Windows 7) drive!!
and
Is it safe?

I have taken ownership of C: drive since XP was released. Maybe before.

this mod doesnt fix the problem, but it means you can play vanilla. As this mod is vanilla, except it works with kingdoms.
This is how i play vanilla, as i have the same problem as you.
Past experience, no other way. Best case, you play, worst case, you're reinstalling Windows.
Retrofit may get you by it , maybe not. You won't play vanilla again once it's installed as it overwrites the unit files lock, stock, and barrel.
Sometimes you have to take risks to learn new things. I lost count how many times I've played "what if" and had to go back and do it over but I always learn something from it.Im afraid to take risks...
