Amazing. This seems to be the most historical Rome II mod I've seen (tied with Magnar's) and it might even convince me to buy the damn game....

Yes, they are working hard on it. Maybe the first release will come during the summer holidays. I'm lucky enough to be able to play the beta, and I my opinion (which is obviously quite sided since they are friend of mine) it's the best-looking mod for Rome 2.

as you're a beta tester, do you know if there's any plan to mod the shields? not just texturing but changing the model, as greek shields sucks right know from vanilla.

Yes, they are planning to add new models (if they didn't did it already, I have tested only a few battles yet).

The issue with adding bigger shields, especially for hoplite-type units, is that all the animations would need an overhaul for those units.

The animations have been already remade. I'm sure for the Macedonian phalanx, maybe not yet for Hoplite phalanx. These guys will hold their spear above the shoulder, like it was back in the Antiquity.
