Total(ish) Roster Overhaul
ANNOUNCEMENT: So apperantly 1.0 is on the horizon and, as such, I'm in no hurry to do work which will be made pointless almost immediately after its release. As such, I am greatly scaling back my ambitions for this mod to something I can reasonable put out in the next few days. I do, however, plan to continue making new units once 1.0 comes out.
AOR Units PreviewBrightwater Knights/Mounts: A medium/heavy cavalry unit owned by House Florent. Stannis would start with a few of these and can train more as long as he holds Brightwater Keep.
Re-Worked March Wardens: A versatile shortpike unit from the Dornish Marches. They would serve to counter the Dornish missile cavalry.
PREVIEW:
Northern Pikemen: This would be a heavily armored pike unit recruitable only by the Starks in the north. My idea for them came from how, as I recall, the Stark pikemen held their ground very well during the Battle of the Greenfork. Hardly an elite unit, but much better than the other generic pike units I intend to add.
PREVIEW:
Coast Wardens: This would be a medium cavalry unit that the Lannisters can recruit along their coastline to defend against Ironborn encroachment. They would essentially be a quick-response force to Ironborn invasions and, as such, will only take 1 turn to recruit.
PREVIEW:
Drowned God's Chosen: This is an elite berserker unit wielding two axes and having great moral. Very high attack, and OK defense but vulnerable to AP archers and cavalry. These would essentially be elite shock troops.
PREVIEW:
Gold Cloaks: I know these guys will play a big role in 1.0, but that is still aways off, and the current Gold Cloaks are just re-skilled halberd militia. As such, these guys can stand in until the main release comes out.
PREVIEW:
Hellholt Raiders: A light javelin cavalry unit that is excellent at charging their opponents when their ammunition runs dry. They would have javelins and spears (no swords) so they wouldn't fare very well in prolonged hand to hand combat, but instead are best when skirmishing and cycling charges. They would replace Dornish Nobles, as it makes little sense to me that nobles would act as a skirmisher force rather than remaining in bodyguards etc.
PREVIEW:
Barrow Knights: Medium Cavalry from Barrowtown and Torrhen's Square. They would not be true "knights" as they follow the old gods, but would still be excellent medium cav. I'm thinking of giving them a slightly celtic look.
PREVIEW:
White Harbor Guards: I'm surprised these were left out of the 1.0 Stark roster seeing as they are directly referenced in the books. They would be a basic AOR spear unit which is slightly cheaper and more effective than other spear militia. They would make up for the lack of retraining ability away from their home city by being incredibly replenishable in White Harbor itself (the books refer to massive number of refugees volunteering).
PREVIEW:
Gulltown Watchmen: Basically the same as White Harbor Guards, slightly altered stats.
