Default Westeros: Total Roster Overhaul - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

    Total(ish) Roster Overhaul

ANNOUNCEMENT: So apperantly 1.0 is on the horizon and, as such, I'm in no hurry to do work which will be made pointless almost immediately after its release. As such, I am greatly scaling back my ambitions for this mod to something I can reasonable put out in the next few days. I do, however, plan to continue making new units once 1.0 comes out .

    AOR Units Preview
Brightwater Knights/Mounts: A medium/heavy cavalry unit owned by House Florent. Stannis would start with a few of these and can train more as long as he holds Brightwater Keep.
    PREVIEW:

Re-Worked March Wardens: A versatile shortpike unit from the Dornish Marches. They would serve to counter the Dornish missile cavalry.

    PREVIEW:

Northern Pikemen: This would be a heavily armored pike unit recruitable only by the Starks in the north. My idea for them came from how, as I recall, the Stark pikemen held their ground very well during the Battle of the Greenfork. Hardly an elite unit, but much better than the other generic pike units I intend to add.

    PREVIEW:

Coast Wardens: This would be a medium cavalry unit that the Lannisters can recruit along their coastline to defend against Ironborn encroachment. They would essentially be a quick-response force to Ironborn invasions and, as such, will only take 1 turn to recruit.

    PREVIEW:

Drowned God's Chosen: This is an elite berserker unit wielding two axes and having great moral. Very high attack, and OK defense but vulnerable to AP archers and cavalry. These would essentially be elite shock troops.
    PREVIEW:

Gold Cloaks: I know these guys will play a big role in 1.0, but that is still aways off, and the current Gold Cloaks are just re-skilled halberd militia. As such, these guys can stand in until the main release comes out.
    PREVIEW:

Hellholt Raiders: A light javelin cavalry unit that is excellent at charging their opponents when their ammunition runs dry. They would have javelins and spears (no swords) so they wouldn't fare very well in prolonged hand to hand combat, but instead are best when skirmishing and cycling charges. They would replace Dornish Nobles, as it makes little sense to me that nobles would act as a skirmisher force rather than remaining in bodyguards etc.
    PREVIEW:

Barrow Knights: Medium Cavalry from Barrowtown and Torrhen's Square. They would not be true "knights" as they follow the old gods, but would still be excellent medium cav. I'm thinking of giving them a slightly celtic look.
    PREVIEW:

White Harbor Guards: I'm surprised these were left out of the 1.0 Stark roster seeing as they are directly referenced in the books. They would be a basic AOR spear unit which is slightly cheaper and more effective than other spear militia. They would make up for the lack of retraining ability away from their home city by being incredibly replenishable in White Harbor itself (the books refer to massive number of refugees volunteering).
    PREVIEW:

Gulltown Watchmen: Basically the same as White Harbor Guards, slightly altered stats.
    PREVIEW:

About White Harbor Guards, prophet made a reskin for halberd militia that I used at Wrath Of The North, they were inspired by the jailers of the wolfsden. Also I would not be surprised if the team decides to add a city guard for White Harbor later on since they have done so for Oldtown and Lannisport (hopefully Gulltown to). You could make the clansmen as mercenaries only recruited in certain regions like in KORAH, maybe Last Hearth, Winterfell, Deepwood Motte for northern and Strongsong, The Eyrie and Redfort for the vale (maybe make it so Arryn can't have them?) One other idea that I Think would be cool is Florent Mounted MAA (Riders of The Brightwater), since the florents are one of the wealthier families in the reach.

If you need helpt with coding the hidden resources into EDB (which is pretty easy) just give me a shout!

Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll go ahead with the White Harbor guards seeing as they weren't in the preview (worst case scenario the work gets done twice). I like the idea for the Florents too! It could be especially useful seeing as in some submods Brightwater Keep is all on its own, supporting Stannis and could use a leg up...

Yeah also Florents got among the coolest heraldry in my opinion, maybe the units could be used as bodyguard unit for Alester and Axell so Stannis will be accompanied by some friendly banners in battle!

I did this in FaB 0.9. I believe I had special units for Oldtown, King's Landing, The Twins, The Bloody Gate, and possibly a few more, alongside units borrowed from KORAH (With permission)

I'd love for a few of us submodders to work together on a project. I in fact have a nice little project in mind...;.

Is your project your Robert's rebellion mod or something else?

    Congratulations!

    Great unit!

The units of the city guards (like the "White Guards Harbor"), you could add the helmets.

Yeah, I'm using them for all my unit creations as it means I don't have to deal with clicking on different factions when testing them in custom battles (yes, I'm that lazy).

    Looking good
Since you seem to be nearing completion:
    North:
    Crannogmen (skirmisher/spear unit)
    Reach:
    Arbor marines (javelin/sword unit)
    Riverlands:
Wayfarer Guards (spearmen (watchmen who guard against the Golden Tooth))
    Vale:
    Guards of the Gate (archer/swordsmen)
    Stormlands:
    Holy Hundred (knights)

Was kinda tricky to think of ones that aren't going to be in wtw 1.0

Aint the holy hundred just a bunch of hedgeknights under the leadership of Bonifer Hasty? More like a mercenaryband that should be scripted by an event then AOR Units :p since the fought for both Stannis and Joffrey
