    Default Retraining Elves of Ithilien

Is it possible to retrain unique units in The New Shadow? I've been playing through the game, and my "Elves of Ithilien" (a Reunited Kingdom unique unit) have suffered quite a bit of attrition- mainly from enemy arrow-fire (the AI seems to like to target them an awful lot- most likely because of their extremely high damage and relatively weak armor), and I'm wondering if there's any way to replace the unit's losses (note that the unit itself is still intact).

I know it was mentioned that in Dominion of Men there would be a way to retrain (but not replace) unique units like this, but I'm wondering if anything like that is already implemented in The New Shadow...

I'm aware of the in-universe realism value to not being able to retrain a unit of elves (after all, the elves aren't exactly numerous in the Reunited Kingdom's lands...), but the mechanism could certainly be applicable to other unique units in the game.

Speaking of which, what's the deal with the Lorrernach Axemen? (if I'm spelling that right) I know the unit card doesn't actually identify them as a unique unit, so I would think I would be able to retrain them in the province they are named after, much like the Dol Armoth Men at Arms; but I can't find a city of province named "Lossernach" anywhere on the campaign map for the life of me...

Forgive me if that last bit sounds ignorant from a Tolkien universe perspective- but it's been a long time since I read the LOTR books, and I don't remember coming across any place called Lossernach in my Tolkien lore-readings since...

The Lossarnach Axemen can be retrained in Arnach, but if I remember correctly that is not until you build the mid to high-tier barracks.
It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it.

Thanks! I actually just found that out myself- a little browsing around revealed that that the Lossarnach Axeman can be trained (new units!) in Arnach, with the highest-tier barracks; and the Blackroot Vale Bowmen in Upper Lamedon with the mid-tier barracks. The Rangers of Ithilien in either province of Ithilien, as I expected.

Now what about the *ELVES* of Ithilien? Is there any way to retrain THAT unit?

I asked this question some time ago as my unit of elves was down to quite a few and from what I remember Aradan saying there is no way to retrain them currently

Ahhh, thank you. I guess I'll have to wait for the release of DoM then before I'll be able to retrain my elven archer unit...

Guess I'll be fighting with them down to the last man, errr, elf... Or roleplaying, and disbanding the unit so some elves survive in my realm...

Probably the latter, actually- their upkeep cost is extremely high, after all...

By the way, I know many people probably don't point this out, but interesting signature. I took that test once a long time ago, and took it again just now to see if it would give me the same result it did before. It did:

A thought- I bet a lot of people on this forum are "Tactician" types- it would make sense after all...

One last irrelevant question- where is that picture for your "avatar" from? Is that a famous actress or something- I don't recognize it...
