Thread: Fire at will thread no longer in use! Don't comment so thread dies.

    its a good mod, but has there been any reports of animation glitches with this mod? I recently ran into an issue with the mounted General unit sprouting another arm whilst holding a pilum

    I just got done recording a episode with this mod....Did not see that at all....prob just a glitch

    Yeah, I'll try running it again with even higher in the load order, I really do enjoy your mod though.

    Is it possible to enable that when i alt click my enemy (melee charge) the legionaires still throw their pilums like normal? because now i have to stop, right click the enemy to throw pilum on them, then alt+ left click the enemy to attack, this mod is great in defensive posture but in an offensive posture its not so good

    If you mean charge the enemy after throwing I just press f and is goes straight to melee....Pretty easy.

    With fire at will they will not throw on charge......I know there is a debate about this, but there are countless documents stating the men would stop, then throw, and then engage the enemy. Think about it, having a entire cohart charge and throw is just crazy....there is actually a youtube clip of some historical guys trying this "charge and throw method" and found it was a simply not effective. So, you can either take "throw on charge" or "fire at will" but you can't have both.

    Valid point, but im sometimes sacrificing authenticity when i think it will ismply be more fun ingame, like now when i want to play with both options at the same time so gameplay wise i would prefer both but i agree authentic wise its maybe not so valid. I will keep your mod tho because just standing still defensively and NOT throwing is worse than not throwing while standing still but throwing "on the charge". So i am going for the lesser of two weavils here, wich is your mod

    Hi Ant909, I like your mod but I use Bulgod's slowbattle mod and it conflit's with yours can yuou tell if they are compatible???

    It should work, I should have stated I have a new version that fixed some issues and everyone should re-download.....Let me check it out and see if it works.

    Well, I just tried it and it seemed to work.....I did just checked to see if it loaded. The only thing it conflicts with is the projectile tables and animation tables......So, everything else works just fine....You can change the projectile table if you want....just can't change the animation.

    If you want, ask bulldog to make a version with this mod....I do think it might have more conflicts as I have not tested it much

    Just use PFM go right to projectile tables and their you go. I think Bulldog on his slow mod thread has a description on how to do it.

    Figured to let you know, I really liked your mod before, as them throwing their pilums automatically was really nice.

    Using the current "throw" ability that DeI added is just kind of a hassle to micro manage all my other legionaries.


    I secretly wish you still worked on this, hehe

    Thanks man, well I would I like the animation more then anything else. But D.E.I has it right were they can throw when they are defensive, but also on charge (my mod could not do that). I would totally update this but I think very few used this mod, and I only used it for the animation for my legions. Sorry brother, but this is a dead goose.

    I do agree it can sometime be a hassle to click each unit to fire, but that is the only way to get best of both worlds for the charge and defense throw.

    I would use your mod, I think it still is the best solution out there atm. The micromanagement of multiple cohorts like it is not in DeI when the enemy is advancing just does not work for me. I end up loosing valuable damage that could have been inflicted on the enemy since I dont have the speed to order all units to fire at the correct position were the enemy is at when they are all very close.

    I would update this, but first I would have to figure out how to get rid of the current throw pila....Not sure how to do that.
