    Default Reavings of the West

The coast outside the Crag looked peaceful this night, with only the stars lighting up the heavens. A few fires burned here and there at the villages, showing the way for the Ironborn ships as they sailed closer to the shore. Jasper Harlaw and his men on the Storm Axe were as silent as the grave. They watched the green land draw closer and closer while they sharpened their blades and strung their bows. The sails were up and the crew oared the final distance before landing on the shore. The men jumped out and gathered in smaller groups. Some drew up the ships further on the shore so they wouldn't drift out, while others went a little farther to look for any enemies that might have spotted them. Soon enough they gathered again, and the scouts came back empty-handed. Jasper gave the signal and the Ironborn rushed towards the villages near them.

    Ironborn Host:
    300 Ironborn Raider Infantry (AoR)
    100 Ironborn Raider Infantry (AoR)
    240 Ironborn Reavers (ship crew)

    Bonuses:
    -6 detection rolls
    1D14 (8/17 detection rolls)
    +23% loot

    Jasper Harlaw traits:
    Duels +2
    Field Battle Rolls +1
    Survival Rolls +1

    Enemy Host:
    Unknown

    Orders:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Jasper Harlaw leads Ironborn Raider Inf and Ironborn Reavers advance quickly towards the fishing villages
Ironborn Raider Archers follow closely behind, giving support if necessary

    Detection Roll: Rolled an 16 - 6 detection = 10, so

6-10: Raid runs into some trouble and despite initial success, the smallfolk are able to organize a militia and prepare to do their best against the raiders while the local lord's response will still be too slow. 1d20*100 Light Infantry + 1d6*100 Archers will mobilize to oppose the raiders. (12/20 chance)

Light Inf Roll: rolled a 5, so 500 light inf are mustered
Archer Roll: rolled a 2, so 200 archers are mustered

OOC: Since it is his province that is being raided, I shall allow Oznerol to Rp the orders for the peasant defenders.

The peasants prepare themselves to defend their village, wives and belongings, with their lives if necessary, they warn the Crag and it's garrisson, but in the meanwhile they will try to hold the ground.

    Orders:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The light infantry will try to form something like a spearwall in the village's entrance, while the archers try to profit from the Ironborn's lack of them, positioning themselves on the roofs, higher ground and behind the infantryman, trying to thin the enemy's ranks from afar, volley after volley. One hundred infantryman will try to sneak behind the Ironborn, using their knowledge of the terrain, either heading to ships to avoid the would-be defeated Ironborn to escape or to hit the Ironborn's rearguard if the fight is pitched and their partners are wavering (to sum it all: 400 infantryman form spearwall, with all the archers, while 100 infantryman try to sorround and circle the Iroborn)

OOC: I don't think the knights will be in the battle, Oz, at least judging by what HB said about the rolls.

OOC: That's only for 18-20 rolls

"18-20: Player Controlled only: The raid gets spotted in advance, and the raiders identified. The Lord gets to respond to any attacks with his professional troops, while a D20*3 will indicate what percentage of the levy can be hastily called up to defend the province against the raiders. NPC: Raiders identified, 1d20*100 Light Infantry + 1d6*100 mobilized in defense. (3/20 chance)"

Both posts are correct. Only the men that I have listed in the second post are actually present in the battle.

Your professional soldiers would be there only if your own hold is being attacked. This is a raid on some random village within the Crag province and they are not actually besieging the Crag itself. You can only use your professional soldiers to fight off the raid if the detection roll allows (an 18 -20) but that is not the case.

The "Red Lion Host" arrives at The Crag, Lord Lucyus I Reyne and his Uncle and Commander of his Personal Guard, Ser Ryan Reyne up in front.
All of the Men feel relieved because the long march ended, Ser Ryan orders them to build up the Camp and to establish some fortifications while Lord Lucyus schemes at the Commanders Tent

    Red Lion Host
    Commander:
Lord Lucyus I Reyne (Field Battle +3, Siege Battle +3, Duel +2, Survival +2)
Ser Ryan Reyne (Siege Battle +4, Field Battle +4, Survival +4, Escape +2)

    Total: 6055
    1,625 Light Inf
    780 Heavy Inf
    455 Polearms
    455 Archers
    360 Light Cavalry
    180 Heavy Cavalry
    300 Household Knights (elite cavalry)

Skill: These troops form the personal bodyguard of the Lord in a battlefield situation. Formed of minor nobility, wards, trusted retainers and second sons of wealthy lords, these men represent the best equipped fighting force Westeros can field, composed of men with the financial means to buy the best and spend most of their time in training. If these men are present as the Lord's bodyguard the Lord gains +2 to the post-battle condition roll (eg dead, captured, wounded, free) and, if the Lord to which they are attached leads a cavalry charge, these men form the highly-armoured spear tip granting the charge an additional +1 modifier.
    400 Westerlander Knights (elite cavalry)
Skill: If fighting in the Westerlands, they gain +2 to rolls, subject to ratio calculations.
1500 Guardians of Casterly Rock (elite infantry)
Skill: These troops gain +3 to battle rolls if fighting in the Westerlands. This will be divided by their ratio in the fighting forces and decimal points rounded as normal. Therefore, this unit type must compose at least 1/6th of the clashing infantry to gain a +1, 1/2 of the clashing forces to gain +2, and 5/6ths of the clashing forces to gain a full +3.

    Orders
Archers are ordered to shoot at the attackers when the enemy is moving against the village, while being defended by 825 of the Light infantry and all of the heavy infantry/elite infantry.
Polearms are along with the rest of the light infantry and all cavalry forces in back ordered to hold the entrance of the village in case of the Iron Born Host breaking through.

OOC: Victorious, I doubt that Reyne would make it in time to the Crag as not even Westerling's forces could.

OOC: As I have stated above, only the forces in the second post of this thread are here for the battle. Also, sorry for not rolling this earlier. I have had a nightmare of a week regarding my university workload with three exams, two quizzes and a paper all due this week.

Battle Rolls: 880 points vs 700 points.

Rolled 20 +1 for the ironborn and a 3 for the peasants.

    880 x 21 = 18480 vs. 700 x 3 = 2,100

The peasant defenders are easily routed from the field of battle. The Ironborn suffer 10% losses in the process.

    Loot Roll: 60,000 Province

    Rolled a 6, so 6% of 60,000 is 3,600 +23%= 4,428 Dragons Loot.

Looked out from his longship as his men brought their iron price on board. The futile resistance they had met was easily destroyed and routed, those who survived and failed to escape now lay drowned on the shore, offerings to the Drowned God. It had been a fruitful reaving, but they had only just begun. The whole western coast would soon fear the Ironborn again. It was a good feeling he got from that thought.

The Ironborn soon set out from the shore of the Crag, now a little heavier from their stolen loot.
