Let's get this started.
The Conquests of Constantinople by Aquila Praefortis
I am playing as the Eastern Roman Empire in Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion
The Conquests of Constantinople is an AAR set in a time of political turmoil and moral flexibility, starting in the late fourth century. The Augustus of Eastern Rome, Valens Flavius, in the later years of his life has became obsessed with reuniting most of the old Roman Empire as the Western half's influence and "Roman-ness" plummets. The difficulties in doing so arises as other issues the Empire has had to deal with for years are now getting stronger and entirely newer problems arrive. Can Roman steel and their leaders' hope not only survive in this brave new world, but conquer it as well?

It's not too late is it? http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...s-(Romani-AAR) by Ownager

"We will either find a way or make one." -Hannibal Barca
Well then, since updates in January are now eligible I will enter my own work once again in this competition... follow the (further adventures of prince Alphonse and his kin in the Levant, as they struggle to defend their small kingdom of the Crusader States against superior foes in a Medieval II Total War game with Stainless Steel 6.4 mod (late campaign). The author is the reknowned Strengelicher, the link can be found below...
"Epistolas de in Ante"Author: Sbroadbent
Letters from the Front
Game: Total War Rome II (patch 7)
Faction: Rome/Junia
Link: Epistolas de in Ante
With Gods as Our Guides.
Edit: Since I'm not really sure of the AAR's future, and because I don't feel rushed to enter into this sort of competition, I'm withdrawing this nomination. I'll save it for a more worthy cause.![]()

Raiders across the Sea:
Raiders Across the Sea
By Axis Sunsoar
Medieval 2 total war: SS 6.3
Playing as Denmark
A tale of fierce viking raiders, and bloodthirsty captains taking completely unexpected courses as they shape history to their own ends.
A young prince seeks glory, despite the instructions of his uncle, the regent.
A seemingly useless old king proves to be more than anyone bargained for.
A scheming younger brother maneuvers his way through the courts of a young Catholic Kingdom.
And even death cannot stop the Wrath of the Vikings.
(In the meantime, no one really takes anything seriously)
Hopefully a refreshingly humorous entry that I work on when I'm feeling too happy or witty to write one of my sadder creative writing stories.
So where is the voting poll?
Ed withdrew his submission so there are only 4 candidates. You need one more before the poll can go up. If the competition is extended to include April I'll submit Swords of the Sea to get things running. Otherwise I'd suggest sending some PMs to some of the active authors who haven't considered submitting their works thus far.
Swords of the Sea: 1066 has come and gone, the Danelaw torn down and a new kingdom built in the image of its Norman rulers. But with time, wounds heal and what is broken can be reforged. The Danes have returned with steel, and seek to reclaim what is theirs.
The Great Expedition: Pax Anglia, one of Earth's great empires, sprawling across the stars. On their newly colonised planet of Nova Sydney, adventure awaits on the savage frontier - Henry Boyce steps forward to lead an expedition to pierce the Bushlands' wild heart.
Winter War: Finland, 1939. The Soviet war machine has begun its indomitable advance from the east. Of all its neighbours, only Finland stands alone in defiance. Conscript Anton Bezrukov prepares for a quick victory, but the reality is far bloodier...
Extended to April.
The White Horse: Hanover AAR (On going ETW AAR)
Tales of Acamar: Legends WS Yearly Award Best Plot Winner (On-going CW Piece)
The Song of Asnurn: An Epic Poem MCWC VI Winner (On-hold CW Piece)

Derp, you're right. Ed would have made 6. I must have overlooked one submission. Ignore me everyone.![]()

There are five. I mistook one for a comment. I'll open the poll Monday since I'm out of town.
