    It has been done 10,000 times before in the past, it will be done 10,000 times in the future. I wouldn't class it as an exploit, the yo-yo bug is a definite bug wherein an army that can retreat into a fort doesn't because there is an adjacent unit blocking its way :/ It is as I said; a low blow and I apologise for using it, but I must overcome the odds that are against me by any legal​ means.

    Just let it be a lesson to ye to not leave free units lying around, especially near garrisoned cities/forts where they can retreat into.

    I'd understand it if the army was outside Sardes but the reinforcements were nearly a whole turn away from Sardes.

    So no lesson to be learnt from this. To me this is a clear exploit.

    I can provide at least a dozen links where this has been done, it is a frequent and efficient way of defeating a garrison, vipman likely has done it and seen it many times as I have and thus odds are he will agree it is a low blow, but no exploit :/ Also you won't lose your coast because of this That will happen when more of my stacks land xD

    So there was space for them to retreat inside the city but the siege in step 1 prevented that?
    This does seem like a very low blow xD

    To besiege a settlement just so an army retreats near it instead of inside, then lifting the siege to attack the small army and make the army inside the settlement reinforce, I view this very much as an exploit.

    Unfortunately it has been allowed most times, I can't remember any particular case where it wasn't allowed or if it happened before in this hotseat, can anyone please direct me to such cases if you know any?

    To draw out an army from a settlement making it reinforce a nearby unit is considered "fair" because it's not possible for the defender to decide if he withdraws or not, if he reinforces or not, so everyone can do it to the others, but besieging a settlement to stop a retreating unit to enter it for then to lift the siege and make the army inside reinforce, this is just too much.

    I'm unsure what to do yet, I need more info about past cases and to think more about it. I remember now something similar happened with my fort in You can't fight fate, but I think the problem was with the yoyo thing, I'll see tomorrow, for now better hold the game.

    Just an addendum, if I attack the units without besieging the city anyways they retreat to just outside.

    Number of units inside the castle = 14
    Number of units in army outside = 10
    Total number of units = 24. 24>20
    Therefore even if I hadn't besieged intially they would've retreated outside the city. I just sieged to make sure when I took the turn xD Just oduble checked now and if I attack without besieging they retreat to the same square had I besieged anyways so no difference :S

    Just saying xD

    In summary: I'm just an ass for doing it, but it wouldn't have made much difference had I not done it xD

    And why didn't you say so and do so from the beginning? I checked myself and you're right, the army stays outside, so it's legal, although not truly fair as I described above.

    Now another problem, I see the expedition army which starts in a fort can pass trough enemy forts ZoC like the ship ZoC bug, is this a known issue, is it normal, as in does it happen if the army starts the turn in the field and not in a fort? To pass to Sardes you had to use your spy to take that fort on the road, I hope you did that, I await you to post the screens.

    As of now it's not allowed to besiege a city to not allow a retreating army to enter it, then canceling the siege to attack it and the army inside to reinforce. In the next days I'll see what rules need updating.

    Surprised I have 5 ships remaining on that last naval battle.

    Last turn you sunk my whole fleet in one battle. This turn you sunk 18 ships with 14 ships. Sorry but this is turning into a joke. This is a known bug.

    What can I say, maybe I too should start reloading my turns until I get my desired outcome, including bugs and low blows, everything seems to be allowed.

    I don't know exactly how this happens, when the whole fleet is defeated and sunk while other times a single ship can retreat up to 4 times and never sink.
    In another hotseat we have a rule similar to that for heroic battles, that the battle should be replayed until a different result occurs.

    I had thought that it happens when the enemy has already spent his movement points and in the same turn someone attacks him and he is forced to retreat.
    Without movement points remaining his fleet sinks completely. But now Sparta plays first so the above theory must be wrong

    Naval AR has always been a joke I'm afraid ser, in all mods. It is something to do with the base game. I recently suffered a naval defeat in WTW wherein my opponent had 2:5 odds and had a clear victory -.-

    I very rarely reload battles, takes the fun out of it. My main use of reloading is to optimise movement and to scout out. I just got lucky with the Cilician fleet, unlucky with yours.

    Just to let you know though Cilicia's fleet solely comprised of Biremes, abotu half of my fleet were triremes and thus I had a significant advantage over him, hence the victory.
