    Default Recruitement Question

Hi guys, In my France campaign I am trying to recruit Light Men at Arms. I have the Castle Caen with a general who has the two required retinues ( war council and professional army or something to that affect) and I am still unable to recruit them. The Light Men at Arms is greyed out and says something like "there are no more units available". I have not recruited a single one the entire campaign. I even sent my faction leader there to try and recruit. They have all the necessary traits/retinues.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hello,
what sub mod are you using? BgrV or IV?

if it's V check that it's not a centrally controlled region, since among all the centrally controlled regions only the capital can recruit troops better then militias. Also check that your regions is not in mp deficit - although if you haven't recruited anything this shouldn't be the case (recruiting agents counts as recruiting).

This is a question specific to Byg's grim reality, you should ask this question in that thread(it is located in the submods section of SS).

Btw, a personal advice, if you are not a pro at medieval 2 don't use Bygs grim reality, it makes you go into some real hardcore micromanagement. You will need to start a new campaign if you disable it though.

I think it is a question about bgrIV, that comes as an option with SS. There is an overall recruitment limit based on the size of your faction compared to all other factions. If your faction has more troops than a larger faction then you reach the recruitment limit. It prevents over exploitation of the vast amounts of money that human players can accumulate in St.St., helping to keep factions on a level paying field. Conquer more territory to be enable to support a larger army

    Check out the manual.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I am using bgr IV. So if I understand you correctly, recruiting militias and agents is preventing me from recruiting the light men at arms?

I cant remember if agents count, but if you disband some units you should find that next turn you can recruit, if you want to change militias for some superior units.
