Biography: Uncle to Lord Edmund, Barristan is a grim old man, but a fearsom one. Anyone has seen him smile since his marriage proved infertile. But maybe the fault was of his wife, a Lothson, and the course of Harrenhall. Ever since he has been the castellan of Riverrun and the marshal of the Riverlands. Cunning, a capable ruler, with a sharp tactical mind. Since his youth Barristan has been a fine swordman, and age has not withered his skills. In 234 AL he was appointed Lord Warden of the One Trident.
