    Default Can't recruit English longbows? Can I change anything?

    I know this question has been asked before, and yes I even did my own research. But none of the answers/threads helped. It's 1230 AD and I can't recruit longbows even with the highest level archery range, what gives? Can I change the late campaign start date, or should I just do an early era playthrough and wait til around 1215 when it's said that they show up.

    I think there's an event sometime around 1250+ that lets you train longbowmen.
