    First off, I'm replacing the variantmeshdefinition of a unit I didn't create so credit goes to the modder who made Chosen Axemen. I'm just experimenting with the assembly kit beta.

    I've made a new variant mesh definition using the Assembly kit and the hands and faces of the soldiers go crazy when they are on the battle map. This is the first time I've tried to make a new unit since Medieval II So I don't really know what I'm doing.

    There are different classes or sections where you can place models on the soldier, but I am unable to add more of them so I have to place models I want to use in weird places. For instance I have a thracian shield on a section labeled "Beards" but if I could have more prop sections I could add them there instead. Is there a way of adding more props yet? However, I'm not even sure if this is the problem.

    If someone could help me find the problem I would really appreciate it.

    One attachment is a new spear unit I'm making. The other is a rhomphaia unit I made that is currently experiencing the problem. It happens sporadically and sometimes blocks the camera completely when I try to watch combat too closely.

    Did you ever manage to fix this problem? I have the same thing going on.

    Sadly no, the faces and hands of the units still freak out whenever I zoom in too close. But I have been able to load a units uniform and edit it without the bug. I did this for Royal Spartans and silver shield swordsmen. But when I create my own definition the mesh glitches out.

    Attach the post file (or code) variantmeshdefinition, that we could see exactly what the problem is with this file

    You are most likely using "cinematic" skin meshes (they have "_cine_" suffix). They are to only be used by officers/generals and agents. Change them to something more appropriate.

    I did fix it by using a different skin, so the guy above is probably right.
