Germania's about to crumble!

I started a new campaign as the Briton's., and i'm about 10 turns in. I own 6 settlments at the moment, and all of them are makeing $400+ or more. 2 of them have $2000+ for income, while the rest are in the hundreds. I never knew how awesome the Britons lands were. Very fertile. I pretty much halted population growth in most of my settlments which is really helping to keep army upkeep down, I simply raised taxes. My treasury total is already at $40,000 10 turns in.
I'm building units left and right, warband, swordsmen, chariots etc. I'm pumping out so much military power I dont know what to do with it....or do I....

I thought to myself, "I have all this military might, why not use it!".

I attack Germania next turn, with 4 stacks all about 9-10 units each. I plan on attacking 4 settlments, simutaneously! Ya that right 4 settlments all in the same turn! So 3-4 turns later and all 4 of my stacks are in position to attack, so I launch the strike! I siege 4 settlments at once. If I succeed in capturing all 4, Germania's left with 2 settlments left. I head into the next turn and I fight all 4 sieges in 1 turn, enslaving all settlments. I now own 10 settlments! I use the command code "toggle_fow" to see whats left of Germania's military. They have a single stack with 4 units and there remaining 2 settlments each have 4-5 units.

So as of right now, Germania's on its knees....i'll pick up where I left off tommorow....stay tuned!

Interesting.. I've never played barbarian campaign more than maybe 10 years. So keep on reporting.. Oh, and add some screenies, will you?

Bet the two high income Brit cities are the pair that border the narrow sea between Briton and the mainland.

How did your brit troops beat the German spearbands on the battlefield ?

Ya your right. I build portsin both of them so trade is really flowing in. My biggest city is the one on the mainland.

Well I always have chariot archers when i fight so i'll have the chariots dwindle the spearbands #'s then simply overwelm the spearband with warband. But I know spearband > warband in a fight, so I try to avoid having the 2 clash. It was really always a case of outnumbering them.

I upgraded to swordsman recently. I still have warband units spread about, but the swordsmen are filling up the ranks now.
Swordsmen > spearband. I'm hoping to get my biggest city to the next level so I can build the next level of barracks to get the choosen swordsman.

I really want to take on Gaul, but there settlments have ridiculous amounts of units. If they were to attack me next turn they would probably take me out easily because most of my army is campaigning east against germania and onward.

I think once I get choosen swordsman, i'll start a campaign against the Gauls, but as of right now swordsman arent going to cut it.

So the Gauls are my biggest worry.

Although I have not played the Britons, I don't think you will have any trouble with the Gauls because:

1. While they have lots of units, they are mainly warbands which are roughly equivalent to town watch only.
2. When playing as Julii, I found the Britons to be a much tougher opponent than the Gauls or Germans. And of course I only fought the Britons after I beat the Gauls, so being economically and militarily stronger later in the campaign, you might think I would have had an easier not harder time vs the Britons.
3. In every campaign I have played, the Britons seem to do well. Those chariots are tough units and can cause lots of casualties not only with range attack but charging and breaking up infantry formations. Even legionnaires. The other western barbarians don't have a comparable unit so it will be a big advantage.

i once had a briton save where i owned all of britannia, hibernia, gaul, germania, spain, north-africa, dacia and italy!
but, off course the computer broke down and i couldn't find my save..
annoying!
and you seem to be going that way!
and mukali is right, the gauls are concerned about the romans and spain, attack them whenever you want!
