Default The Crag, seat of House Westerling

    House Westerling of the Crag

House Westerling of the Crag is a noble house sworn to House Lannister. Their sigil is six white shells on a sand-colored field. The Westerlings are an old and well-regarded family that descends from the First Men and who once intermarried with the Kings of the Rock and House Targaryen. The stronghold, once a great seat, is slowly decaying, as Westerlings no longer have the funds to mantain it properly.

    The Golden Courtyard

    The Golden Courtyard:

Started by Lord Gawen Westerling and finished by Lord Ormond Westerling, his son. This magnificent courtyard is the core of the Crag, where the private chambers of the noble family are housed. The wings of the courtyard are a great Audience Hall and a good sized Feast Hall, where Lord Westerling holds both his audiences and celebrations. Below the courtyard there are the cellar, filled with dozens of barrels of the best wine, and the dungeons of the Crag.

    LORD AND HOUSEHOLD:

    Lord Ormond Westerling
Titles: Lord of the Crag, Master of Coin to King Aegon V

    Born in 179 AL (55)
Status: Widowed; Alice Tarbeck (born 178 AL, died 234 AL), children: Kevan Westerling (born 206 AL), Sybill Westerling (born 210 AL), Margery Westerling (born 213 AL), Jeyne Westerling (215 AL)

    Traits (20):
    +5 Income, +5 Survival, +3 Siege Battles, +3 Counterspy, +4 Field Battles

Biography: Lord Ormond in his prime was a skilled jouster and duelist, but an accident (some say it was intentional) in a tourney let him with a limpness that turned him unable to be a fine swordsman again. However he has a long experience in the battlefield as a commander, and has followed the Lord of the Rock in all his enterprises, with unwavering loyalty. He is a proficient administrator but Ormond seems to be unable to stop his house's decay, and their economic situation is worsening with every generation. Nowadays they can't claim to be the second wealthiest House, a place that Reynes and Leffords usurped long ago. However their pride and legacy is intact. To make the situation even worse he has four daughters whose dowry he must afford, somehow...

    Ser Kevan Westerling

    Born in 206 AL (28)
    Status: Single

    Traits (8):
    +1 Income, +1 Field Battles, +2 Survival, +2 Duels, +1 Jouster, +1 Fist Figther

Biography: The young Westerling, while he is a fine knight he seemingly prefers visiting inns and brothels, and doesn't care much about ruling his lands. He is always sorrounded by commoners, to his father's dismay, and spending with liberality the wealth of the Westerlings in whores and wine. His only concerns are tourneys and duels. However, unknown to almost everyone, he is clever and smart.

    Auxiliaries
Maester Lancel (second cousin once removed of Ormond, born in 163 AL), Tyene Hill (mistress of Lord Ormond, whispers say she is a bastard of Lord Tarbeck, such half-sister to Ormond's wife, a bastard; Devan Hill), Ser John Falwell (a drinking companion of Kevan Westerling, a fat, vain, boastful, and cowardly knight. 43, born in 190 AL)

A letter arrived from the Stormlands.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    My Lord Westerling,

I have an abundance of custom forged armor in my armory that continues to reach capacity. I strongly believe that The Crag and your forces their could benefit from such armor in return for trading the gatherings of your gold mines. If you wish to agree to this deal, I will begin shipments of Armor immediately to your Keep and it's armories.

    In Light of the Seven,
    Bryce Caron
    Lord of Nightsong

    Lord Westerling,

We accept your proposal; the capital may gain access to the headwaters of the Honeywine though us, and thus to the rich southern Reach.

[ooc: Remember buildings take a week to build. I'm fine with you updating the OP in advance for week 1 but we can't have you buying buildings on the 31st, updating this thread the same day, and then using the levy or income values on the 1st of February because you'd forgotten to take into account that you're updating a full week in advance.]

ooc: Yes, I know, didn't I add the finish date? Let me check, ah! No, I thought I had added the date... maybe I deleted it when I was struggling with the content boxes. I'll add it again.

They are led through the first layer of fortifications, old and made of sandstone, many of them ruined or in decay, then a bridge, crossing a gorge, in which bottom lays a river, with it's shore covered by trees. Then they arrive to the inner fortress, with high walls and towers. They finally reach the Golden Courtyard, the core of the Westerling's seat, which tiles are made of gold, a magnificent palace worthy of one of the most ancient families in the West. There, in the Great Hall Ser Kevan Westerling and Lord Ormond's retainers and vassals wait Lord Reyne:

"My dear Lord Lucyus of Castamere, welcome to the Crag"

Lord Lucyus is dressed in silver velvet with small ornamentations and a Red Lion on his chest. with him his Uncle Ser Ryan, wearing the same old armor as always and his lovely sisters, Lyra and Myra Reyne. They wear exactly the same clothes only Lyras freckles reveals her
"Lord Westerling, regards" Lucyus says enthusiastic
"Your Stronghold isnt the most beautiful but there is no way to capture it for sure" he says laughing

Lady Lyra steps foward diffident and bows slightly
"This will be your son's Bride my Lord. She is beautiful isnt she?" Lucyus says proudly
"Wait...Sure she is cause she is my sister and i am the best dressed Lord in Westeros" he says sure of himself

Lord Westerlings nods and hits the marble floor with his cane:

"Aye, she is a beauty, worthy of the most noble Reynes of Castamere, a true scion of your high blooded House. She will be a magnificent Lady of the Crag, and a Westerling"

Lord Ormond approaches Lord Reyne followed by his son. Lord Westerling grabs Lord Reyne's arm, and Kevan bows, while kissing Lyra's hand, kindly.

    Kevan looks into her eyes:

"Today, my Lady, I swear that I will protect and love you, to serve your Ladyship as your husband"
