    Default MightyMiniMod released!

Come on without, come on within! You'll not see nothing like the MightyMiniMod! (Sorry, but I like that song )

The first version of my unit rebalancing mod is done. Here's the short version of what I did:
Increased charge stats and decreased attack stats for long lance cavalry
Decreased charge stats and increased attack stats for sword cavalry
    Increased cavalry merc costs
    Decreased native Italian merc costs
Got rid of almost all the 2 hp inf. units, and made sure the remainder were hard to get
Made all the hoplite and phalanx units = 60 (base size) and increased costs accordingly
Made a few unit fixes that seemed to be needed
Spartans stayed as is (Hey, are _you_ going to tell the Spartans to change?)

The full changelogs are included with the downloads. Please test this and tell me what you think of the rebalancing, especially my alteration of cav stats. Also, should I make the mercs cost more?

    Special thanks:
Warmaker, Florin80, and especially The Walrus for helping me work out ideas
Candel for making a great mod for RTRE
Candel, LestaT, Marcus Camillus, and the rest of the RTRE team for making a really great port of RTR:G
LestaT, for putting up that post in the RTR forum all those months ago asking if anyone thought porting RTR to RTW 1.5 was a good idea. Heck yeah, LestaT. Heck yeah.
My wife, for putting up with all of this.

    Downloading and installation instructions:
Just download the appropriate version and drag the data folder into your RTW main directory. It should overwrite the files. Don't forget to run the campaign map reset batch file, just to be on the safe side. The readme and changelogs are included in the main directory of the zip file.

Version 1.1 is available for the following mods:

    RTRE 1.7
    RTRE ExRM 2.2e
    RTRE ExRM 2.2e Promethean Ed.

    Alt. Download:
    RTRE 1.7
    RTRE ExRM 2.2e
    RTRE ExRM 2.2e Promethean

Sorry, yes, that's what I meant by ExRM. It should work with the most recent version of Candel's mod.

btw, do I need to cite Candel more specifically for the ExRM?

Hey Quinn Inuit! Great work, looks awesome!

Can I make a version of HSD to be compatible with this? Or... make a version of HSD that has this built in... maybe call it "Hic Sunt MightyMiniMod" rofl

    Thanks!

The hypaspistai got heavily altered (it's all in the EDU changelog). Roman 1st Cohorts? I forget, what was I going to do with those? I forgot to write it down for myself.

Oops. Let me guess, you're using the Promethean version, right? I only did my EDU for the standard version. Sorry. I'll do the next version for both.

    Thank you!

Absolutely. Just mention my name and I'm cool with it. I'll put a CC share and share alike with attribution license on the next version (I forgot to on this one).

For the frist cohorts I dropped an idea about coming with some experience bars or some increased defence skill to go along with their veterancy.

Finally out. Are we going to release that special file for ai? I haven't been able to play because I have been helping with Ancient Empires. @AngryTitus-He fell into the trap...:tooth:

    I'm in the readme?!?!?! OMFG!?!?!?

Nearly ready. I've playtested it and I've got a 1.1 release with some changes* all ready to go, except for the Promethean EDU. That should be done in about 24 hours, hopefully less.

Remember, I'm definitely open to advice about how to get this balanced out better.

Ah, yes, I remember now. I'm too lazy to try to do the hidden resource adding that would require (and don't have the time!), so I just upped their cost a little in 1.1 and gave them an extra point of defense skill. They're better at avoiding death since they've lasted this long.

As soon as I get a copy of Sinhuet's EDU for BBW, I'll start trying to apply the formations to analogous units.

Yep, you're in the readme. You were a great deal of help in the idea stage.

    *Changes in the forthcoming 1.1:
    1.1

Cut upkeep on E. Capp. Cav. by 50
They're good, but not _that_ good. Plus, they're a regional unit, so they should be made cool.

Increased First Cohort Defense Skill by 1, cost by 25, and upkeep by 10 (idea by Pre)

athenian hoplite: Dec. armour factor by 1, cost by 100, upkeep by 50

greek hoplite elite: increased cost by 200 and upkeep by 100

illyrian hoplite heavy: inc. cost by 200 and upkeep by 50

east heavy infantry: inc. cost by 200 and upkeep by 100

    1.1 changes

Added 100 to all merc cav costs except as detailed

aor thrace light cavalry from 1600 to 1000
They're so cheap for the Thracians that it seems silly to have them at 1600.

aor thrace heavy cavalry from 1900 to 2500
This makes them substantially more expensive than just recruiting them. To do otherwise seems counterproductive.

Seriously rebalanced Cav Mercs in the Armenia-Pontus region

Swapped Merc Sarm. Cav. for Sarm. H. Cav. in Cen. Eur. and India

Added 200 to Punic H. Cav mercs

1.1 is out! Besides the above changes, I also fixed peltasts (more or less as The Walrus and I were discussing) and made a couple of other rebalancing changes. They're all detailed in the changelogs included with the minimod.

Edit: Oops! I just learned the hard way that the mount_effect line has to come after the officer line(s). The versions currently available are fine, though.

    NP. It was your idea.

I'm glad you like the look of it. If you play with it, let me know how you like it. Increased merc costs should make it slightly more difficult for human players.

Yeah, I didn't like how some of the balancing in 1.0 came out in-game, and then there was The Walrus's discovery about skirmishers that I felt I had to address.

Did you change the archers mount effect line?

EDIT: I haven't played as camels but I've heard they are weak. Even armoured. Maybe you should investigate this? :hmmm:

Yep, I took care of all the archers, although I'm having second thoughts about the Parthians and Sarmatians.

I'm going to check out the camelphracts on the next version. Those are the only ones with issues, right?

I'm not sure archers and slingers need that. Since AFAIK slingers can get crushed from numidian cavalry(at least funditores) so we may need to check that

Well, I figured I should be consistent across all troops of a similar type. And, to be fair, Numidian Cavalry is actually quite good. If they were getting crushed by regular hippakontistai, that'd be different.

Oh. I never played with Numidian cavalry so I was probably associating them with vanilla's stats
