So can i ever play this game with mods?

Hey, i have Rome Total War on steam and i have been eager to play this game with mods (I mean a mod campaing) when i try to start the game with a ''mod launcher'' that comes with the mod im trying to launch or something like that, an error message comes up saying ''Failed to find Steam'' no problem, i need to copy the Steam.dll file to the Rome Total War folder, i thought i was saved now but however when i try to launch the game with a mod it yet another error message comes up saying ''Problem checking steam application'' (Or something like that) What do i make of that, is there a way to fix this? This happens to me no matter what the mod is. How can i launch the game with mods? I really would like to know because the number 1 thing that i had in mind about this game was the mods!

Thanks, i will try a mod with that, Roma Surrectum II isn't realy the mod im looking forward to play, i wanted to play a few mods like Vlad: Total War, Genghis Khan Total War and Flaming lands, may i ask how do i install mods that have to be putted in the BI folder and how can i launch the mods like Vlad: Total War and Genghis Khan Total War because they dont have their own launcher nad they are ''BI Mods''?

I'm not sure it would work, but perhaps try making a folder for the contents of each of those mods and see if following the instructions from the mod page allow it to work. It did seem that there were a few issues with BI mods from the comments, but I would think that might solve it.

Example : Create a new folder for Flaming Lands and put the contents that would otherwise overwrite original BI into that folder for use with the mod launcher

What about mods like with launcher that still say the good ol' ''Problem checking Steam application'' thing?

Below is how to install mod for Steam version (for my mod obviously but the principle is the same on any mods as long as it's mod foldered.)

3. Steam Version, install RTRPE v2.0 to
a. 64bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Alexander
b. 32bit: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Alexander
To run with Steam right-click on Rome: Total War-Alexander in Steam Library
- select Properties
- select SET LAUNCH OPTIONS...
- enter -mod:rtrpe -show_err -noalexander
** Note - You can also create shortcut by clicking CREATE DESKTOP SHORTCUT
