Default What changes you make to EB to make it feel/ play better?

I tried a lot of changes during time. Added units to some factions, removed AOR, made some buildings affordable to certain factions, so on and so forth.
Do you do this kind of changes, little reforms from time to time as your campaign progresses?

I feel that, as the campaign goes each faction is balanced as to go straight to it's winning condition if it wants to succeed and not be thrown in other wars or money problems. I could be speaking here about "Nigh-Impossible" campaigns and challenging. I did finish the Quart Hadast campaign which was easy and enjoyable, the Getai one which was a bugger with endless phalanx stacks from Asia, Macedon was also easy as they have really good traits generals.

So, yeah, that was the question: what changes do you make, if any, along the campaign and if it is historical to do certain changes after factions conquer certain regions or similar things. One thing that I did with barbarian factions was the adoption of technology. As I would conquer one city that for example, has big mines, I would leave it so the people would "get to know how to build one" and made them available empire wide.

Anyone else does this kind of thing, be it buildings, traits, units?

You could try changing some factional bodyguards to heavy infantry. It does add another dimension to the game.

    1) Playing with Alex.exe
    2) Increased movement points to 120.
    3) Using Force Diplomacy to give Taras to Romans at the 1st turn
    4) Make the reforms happen earlier for Romans, Carthage, Sweboz.
    5) Use toggle_fow and move_character to teleport an army of mine to Eborunom to defeat the rebel stack and capture the city, then give it to the A.I. faction who has reached Eborunom first.(Sweboz or Romans)
    6) Changing the faction colours.

The following were though up by other people, and are already included in some sub-mods (some of them in the multiplayer setup), though I'm not sure whether there is a sub-mod that combines them all:
    - increase all kopis/falcata type swords' lethality from .11 to .15; attack value adjustment (nerf)?
    - Pontikoi Thorakitai: sword lethality increased from .1 to .13; price adjustment?

    - Srakir Martikner: sword lethality increased from .1 to .13; price adjustment?

    - Pezoi Brettioi: defence skill increased from 7 to 9; price adjustment?

    - Gaesatae and Galatikoi Tindanotae: Hitpoints decrease from 2 to 1; price adjustment

    - add RS II battlefield environments (there's a sub-mod for that somewhere out there)
    - add Sabaean recruitable general (dito)

    - Change Pahlava's faction colour. While EB's faction colours are easy on the eyes and a great improvement over Vanilla RTW, pink is still somehow not te happiest of choices. Somebody changed it to orange; might be a possibility to consider?

    - Change victory conditions for Lusotannan and maybe some other factions (explanation below)
    - Change reform conditions for Marian Reforms (see below)
The VCs for Lusotannan include destroying the Roman faction, which is plain weird. IMO this should be replaced with "raid x Italian settlements, including Rome".
The primary condition for Marian Reforms is either "fulfill the following catalogue of very specific criteria", which is very difficult to do but reasonable. The alternative route is to "hold 90 provinces". 90 provinces is very nearly half of the map, and basically the extension of the Roman Empire at the height of its power. It's way over the top IMO. This alternative condition should be changed into "hold x provinces" (for example, 45) plus "fulfill x criteria", for example lose a couple of battles with high body count, and/or build x number of latifundia.

It might also be worth considering to remove/replace those units with a somewhat dodgy background (based on myths or on mis-interpretation of archaeological sources), although that might remove some of the variety.

If you give Eburonum.. how does the game go? Do you feel an improvement?
Also, could you give me the earlier reforms EB script pretty please?
    Thanks!
It would be fun to give the romans a infantry or archer bodyguard.
I did try at one point to change the faction colours, what codes did you find pleasant & for what factions? You could go on make everyone pink, but..

If we could put together an version that has all those fixes would be great, athanaric.

    7) Use "cheats" to gain the Seleukid reforms

^^ The stats changes and the orange Pahlava are very good choices.

EDIT: Vlad, when i go back to my computer (maybe tomorrow) i could attach here my EB-Script.
Also, i 'll see the changes needed for the orange Pahlava.

The Eborunom change is vital for the better expansion of Sweboz and Romans. The Taras change is super-vital for the Romans.

Regarding Taras, I kinda do the opposite along the campaign meaning I send some spies to get the city to rebel back to Epirus. I like green more than red, seems like it.
Indeed that pink thing is annoying. If you could make the colours seem more alive would be great, don't know if it is doable on the campaign map. All the colours except the Getai, Lusi, Arverni, Aedui, Casse and Egypt are not that pleasant to see to the eye. Makedonia is the worst as far as I'm concerned.

Would be a lot of work though (can't do it any time soon, because no spare time and no EB installed). I think Mamik_yev_Konak or one of the other multiplayer people might have an edited MP EDU (they did the lethality thing, which would cause most of the work apart from cost balancing) that could serve as a basis and save a lot of time.

For me it's more the other way around, I really like the EB faction colours with the exception of Pahlava (not because it were ugly, but because it seems inappropriate) and maybe Lusotannan (just a little bit too... brown on the strat map. All others are pretty awesome IMO.
