Default 2 questions regarding playing the Romani

First, do you have any idea why on the unit info of the Rhodian slingers it clearly says they we're recruited historically by the roman army and would be available to do so, yet they are not recruitable in-game?

Second, about the Town Watch, Vigiles. Why are they only available in the western part of the Empire and Galatia? We're they of barbarian origin only?

Also, congrats to the EB team on making all of them 471 units in EB. I barely counted them. Wonderful work, looking forward to EB 2. Just seen some screen from the Envirnment in EB 2 (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1-EB2-Dev-Blog) - OMG they look much better then Rome 2. Regarding that, tried playing it, played 230 hours about but just keep coming back to EB, simply more alive and interesting. For now, Rome 2 seems dull to me. Looks good, yes, but it's dull to play. I just hope for a good diplomacy in EB 2 .

They were, of Western origin. The Eastern were greeks.

Maybe an oversight. You can't recruit them but you can bribe them, so when you see a Greek army containing Rhodian Slingers, it may be worth it to try (it works, I've done it).

No, they were firefighters and quasi-police forces. IIRC most, if not all of them were freedmen, so they must've been of mixed origin.

Atharnic, that's exactly the case how the issue came to my attention. I bribed them and it worked but wasn't able to recruit them in Rhodos. So what would be accurate, changing so they could be recruitable?

Maybe, if that works. I don't know if they were used historically by the Romans, but it would make sense.

This is from their description (http://europabarbarorum.heimstatt.ne...category=any):

"Historically, slingers from Rhodes and others trained in their methods made significant contributions to Hellenic and Successor armies. Xenophon's Anabasis is probably the clearest example, where slingers from Rhodos are able to outfight archers and presumably keep mounted archers at bay. They performed the latter function for Alexander as well, in concert with bolt-throwing engines. In the acceding Hellenistic age, their use by virtually every power is a testament to their effectiveness. Slingers from Rhodos appear later in the Roman army, but history from later periods becomes increasingly sketchy."

Maybe they we're left out later on for balance issues? I think this as the Romans also cannot use the greek slingers, which is also odd as pretty much anyone else is able to. I would ask a member from the EB development team but I wouldn't distract them from focusing on EB 2

Romans not being able to use Greek slingers is probably due to them using the same model as the Roman slingers. As for Rhodians, you'd have to ask in the EB II forum. It's actually not a bad question, and while you're at it, you could ask if Romans get Rhodian slingers in EB II, too.

They use the same model of iberian and african (numidian, I suppose) slingers.

Probably is an overlook or some misconception
