This is why we need to dust off the guillotines...
Hahaha i wanna be santa too! but it doesnt happen. I also like his defenition, of working hard. As if low pay jobs, people dont work hard... it doesnt work that way, in another historical context, im certain, that mans head no longer had a body.
Yeah im aware of the report. All the wealth of the poor in the world equals to the wealth of 85 the most rich people in the world put together.
The truth is it takes alot of poor people to make a rich one. Its sadly the world we live in, and the tendency doesnt look like its pending to a more wealth inequity, quite the oposite actualy.
I fear for what comes in the 21th century, low pay jobs, and less social security, and very high rates of unemployment. I wouldnt put a pass on the use of "guillotines".
Unfortanly something of the sort, might happen, specialy in the most developed countries, i mean this, because are these that are waliking backwards.

One thing is for certain: the more profoundly baffled you have been in your life, the more open your mind becomes to new ideas.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable. Let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.
Kevin O'Leary is supposed to be over-the-top funny. He has two TV shows where he gives invests money in start-up businesses and his image is the greedy Mr. Burns miser. The Lang and O-Leary exchange (as someone who watches CBC news every day) is just made up of Amanda Lang presenting a sad or troubling fact about the economy and then Kevin saying something funny and cynical about it. It's a poorly acted crappy little skit that the CBC puts on. He is our Donald Trump. As the Globe and Mail puts itHe may actually believe the things that he says, but in effect, it's a personal publicity stunt to stand out from the rest of the boring Canadian elite. He's also very loud and refers to most people as "cockroaches" and himself as "Mister Wonderful".He isn't a billionaire, he just plays one on TV
She makes that same face no matter what he says. Sometimes an eye-roll just to shake things up.
TL;DR This isn't news, he's supposed to be a parody of greedy billionaire, this time he inadvertently crossed the line from "funny Mr. Burns" to "Capitalist scum" in the eyes of people who aren't familiar with him. I didn't even know that people outside of Canada even new about him. All publicity is good publicity as they say.
A rather long article about him if anyone cares:

He said that the 85 rich people is fantastic, not the 3.5bn poor.

In Soviet Russia you want Uncle Sam.
If so, then i think he has very low standarts, 85 people isnothing, in billions. He said that the 85 rich people is fantastic, not the 3.5bn poor.
This guy ran and runs businesses, wrote a book on it and even was used as a consultant in a reality show on business practices, yet, he can't even get a simple socio-economic problem right. He represents the great chunk of executives who just can't get their heads out of their ass.

I love how people always focus on rich people and what they have rather that considering that extreme poverty has been cut in half in the last 25 years. Instead, we want to just piddle around and whine and cry on behalf of the poor in some third world country while simultaneously doing nothing about it. Except of course to decry those among us that are filthy rich. Shut theup already. I sincerely hope if you are SO concerned about those living in abject poverty, that you donate considerably to some cause that benefits them or dedicate at least some meager portion of your life to the betterment of their lives. You know, maybe 2 years in the Peace Corps. Oh that's too much time. Two years? Wait, maybe a summer trip for habitat for humanity? Noooo, are you serious? Summer is for break from school! When it really comes down to it the whiners and babies are simply that. Complainers who are as impotent as an 89 year old man and use what potency that have to flap their gums at the rich when they could easily take a tiny fraction of a life that will last for decades, upon decades to benefit those that are truly in need. But that takes a bit more dedication than gum flapping.
Gates on the Three Myths about the World's Poor. Here is a man so ridiculously wealthy and yet he has given FIFTY EIGHTY BILLION to charity. Why? What reason does he have to do this other than because he can? He has the money and he spends it to help others. Warren Buffett gave 3.084 BILLION in 2012. So seriously guys. It's not theing responsibility of every person who makes a lot of money to save the world from poverty. Not that extreme poverty hasn't already been on the decline anyway. But yeah, let's just keep yammering about how rich those bastards are just cause we don't have those moneys.
PS this isn't directed at any particular person.
Half the people are wealthy!
This is the highest net wealth per person in human history. Cry more socialists.
The Earth is inhabited by billions of idiots.

I'm pretty certain that this was meant as a joke...

To the people clamoring for communism in this thread, please take some time to look at history. Communism has never worked and has ended up oppressing the people in every situation that it has been implemented.

Probably more since this is the 3.5bn poorest i.e. not necessarily poor.
