Admitted they are brought before lady Tyrell, sitting in the gardens drinking lemon water.

"Welcome, my ladies. What business do you have with Highgarden?"

Both take places with Lady Tyrell. "We have come to Highgarden to bring the tax king Aegon ordered all to pay."

"Of course." Lady Sylva signaled for two men to come forward with a chest. They placed it for lady Tyrell. "It counts two thousand two hundred Golden Dragons."

The midsummer rains of the Reach are pleasant; It comes down in sheets, sounds across the land like a waterfall upon every rooftop, and floods lakes and rivers.
Still, Reachmen savor the rains of the midsummer, for they are mild in temperature, and bring happy relief from the hotter days of the season.

During such a rainstorm, where one cannot see much farther than two-hundred feet beyond, where the rain irrigates the roads and fallow fields into low swamps and muddy tracks,
came the arrival of Lord Jaime Florent of Brightwater, his great-uncle and castellan, Ser Imry, and a large party of knights leading a covered wagon.

No flag was being used because of the rain, but the guests were easily able to identify themselves to the southern guardhouse of Highgarden.

Ser Robert greets them, some of the knights he knew from childhood. Some less than he wanted to.

"Lord Jaime! Welcome. This storm came from nowhere. Just a few hours ago, the lady was enjoying the sunshine in the gardens."
He extends his arm to greet Florent. Guards in green capes were keeping a watchful eye over the Florent. Such a heavy guard they brought. Just like Hightower a few weeks earlier. When the wagon rolled in they all nodded to each other, praising themselves internally for making assumptions.

Florent dismounts, and accepts Robert's hand in greeting, but then glances about the fortress around them.. high white walls, well-cropped gardens, robust towers in the distance..
He had seen it only a few times in his life, but knew much about it; it was odd to stand inside its walls, remembering the way some of his forefathers spoke so strongly of their claim to it.

Jaime rather liked the summer rains, but apparently Highgarden did not share this sentiment.
"I've always felt that such weather is meant to cleanse the land."
He then faced back to Tyrell, and asked politely but straightly, "Is Her Ladyship indisposed, or..?"

    Jaime Florent was a grown man now: facial hair grown out around his mouth and chin, his dirt-blonde hair parted on the left and combed to the right;
He was taller now, but still of only average height and thin as ever; The doublets and armor of grown knights now suited him, though.
His skin had survived well through childhood, not even a pox mark.

    Robert Tyrell shaked his head.

"Her ladyship awaits inside the main hall and you can bring two men with you. The rest will be properly entertained in the barracks or if they prefer, there's a brothel outside, sells both boys and girls of all ages."

A massive white door opened for lord Jaime, from where one could see the lady sitting in the old Gardener throne.

He should marry me instead, I'm rich, powerful and the greatest beauty in the realm. If only I could get rid of this useless husband, Aegon would not dare refuse having me as his queen.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Aegon must be quite foolish to refuse. A lady of Oldtown is fit for any king."
Lady Amerei continued. But the last time a Hightower married a Targaryen, it led to a Dance of Dragons.

"If your daughter is still unwed, I have a cousin who is eligible."

Sylva thought for it for a while. "I will discuss it with my lord husband. I can not act on this without his knowledge. But a bachelor from Highgarden is surely a good catch. But I would like to ask you for another favour. My daughter here, Alerie. She is becoming a young maid. We have discussed it and I think it will be good for her to be fostered away from home. So she can learn to be a proper lady. My first thought was of course of you."

"It will be a delight to have Alerie as an addition to our court!"
Tyrell smiled at Alerie. Bonding with Hightower was advantageous. She hoped.

Jaime Florent walked down and through the hall, stopping before Lady Amerei, and knelt.

She truly was a beautiful sight, whether it be natural or a noble falsity, and believing himself all too obvious, avoided a straight gaze with his liege lady.
"M'lady Tyrell, I come from Brightwater with the requested tax."

"Very good of you, lord Florent." The lady lifted her hand.

    "You may rise." Claimant.

"That you come in person to deliver it yourself is admirable, my lord. Most of the other lords only sent a wagon, with nothing more than a stamp to tell me inform my stewards who it came from."
Maybe he wants something. He looks healthy. What more could a man want? She smiled.

Florent stood, and faced his liege-lady, stoutly and politely.
For such a nimble and young man, he rather carried himself well as a knight, appearing both austere and chivalrous.

"My lady," he started, "I come not only to bring the requested tax, but also to speak with you about certain matters of politics."
His brow weakly squinted for a moment, grimacing at his own audacity.
