There has to be war

The Great Council shouldn't reach a decision. Or if it reaches one, then it shouldn't be respected by the claimants
All three claimants should be willing to fight for the throne, and there should be people willing to help them. There has to be war, or else this will be dull as hell

I am saying this, because that is what I pictured when I thought of the Great Council setting and I don't want people misunderstanding it

I view this setting as being more about intrigue and diplomacy than war for the throne, with the eventual Blackfyre war. If people wanted a claimant war, we should've went with the Dance.

Edit- Also, what LM says below is very accurate, it'll depend on the players.

If things become very divided, it is possible though. It all depends on what the Council does really and how characters react.

The players should already know that peace is boring. The problem we had with the Dance we once played, was that no one dared to declare war. Rhaenyra hid in the shadows and her allies murdered half of the royal family. And it wasn't fun, at all

We need conflict. We need rivalries. We need people wanting other people dead, in the worst possible way

I agree with this statement. This RP can only survive as long as there is a steady pace of conflicts. it doesn't necessarily have to be a war. It would be something as simple as rivalry created in a tournament that eventually leads to raids on each other provinces and ends in a maybe a duel to death between two conflicts. We just need stuff like that to keep people interested.
