Ok, so I'm gonna start on a new project - RTW is on my computer and RS2 is downloading now. It will be the fun kind, with total mass murder of Romans, massacres of field armies, mass population displacement, enslavement, and all manner of war crimes and human right abuses that come with a war waged on the RS2 AI.

    So Sparta. Question time:
    1. What do you usually think of when "sparta" is mentioned?
    2. How do/would you play the Sparta faction in RS2?

These responses will be very helpful, thanks. With a modern-day computer, I can run RTW with huge units, massive resolution and everything turned to max. This'll be good

    1. Xenophobic, fascist, oppressive, boy lovin', eugenist, plum smuggler wearing, badasses of the ancient world. I mean this in the nicest way as my great grandmother was from Sparta. Seriously though, I love reading about their warrior culture which is so unlike any other throughout history. Sometimes they seem like the freedom fighting superheroes of the ancient world and sometimes they seem evil nazi authoritarian tyrants.
2.Subdue Greece by occuying and burn, plunder and exterminate everything else.
“The hardest thing in the world is to assume the mood of a warrior. It is of no use to be sad and complain and feel justified in doing so, believing that someone is always doing something to us. Nobody is doing anything to anybody, much less to a warrior.” ― Don Juan
"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag." -- Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

How is there so much WIN packed into one thread with only two responses thus far? That's +1 rep to all of you!

    As for the questions:
    1. I imagine the Spartans as the meat-headed jocks of the ancient world, who completely sucked at diplomacy since they had little to no comprehension of finessing and persuasion other than by force. Then again, with their reputation and skills, all they really needed was force until they were outsmarted at Leuctra.
    2. More or less I would do the same that the man, the myth, the legend described above. To that I would add the idea of conquering an empire slightly larger than the real Roman Empire at its height, which is exactly what I did with the Free Greeks faction in RSII (and for that matter, the Roman faction too).

Athens has thrown back two assaults on their city by my hoplites by deploying "Forbidden Technique -Vengeance Weapon 1: RomeTW has stopped working"

    I'm gonna murder them.
