Default Forgot to activate script--I think--for two turns... start over?

As much as I have played EB, I may have forgot to activate the script and saved over my old save. I entered a battle to find much of the enemy army scattered and just standing around. I don't know if this is because of the script or just the flawless CA BAI? I don't quite remember if I activated it or not....

My question is this: If I forgot to activate it, playing only two turns without, is it possible that it is now broken requiring a new game? When I say broken I don't mean not working as I quit out of EB entirely, went back in and activated the script just fine.

I know that the scattering is common, but you don't seem to have any other symptoms of the EB crash.

Is scattering common in Rome itself or common in EB when you forget to activate the script?

Are you sure? Well, there isn't a previous save in place. Yes, I know, not smart. If I have to then no big deal. I just hate having to go through the beginning lull

I have heard the same case in this forum in the past, and this was the answer.

Yeah, I had the suspicion in the back of my mind that I would have to start over. Oh well, this game is definitely worth starting over
I can do some things diferently by starting a new game. I won't try and expand as quickly though; that didn't work out too well. The Aedui, Getae, Lusotanans, and Macedonians made sure of that. Macedon had stacks upon stacks, of course.

In Rome. Is it the units individual troops that scatter or the units themselves?

The units themselves. Only one unit of hoplites came towards my formation, I was defending btw, and one unit group went to the left of my formation and just sat there, Rome II style, and a few other units moved to different areas just hanging out not doing much. I even sent my Eqvites Romani behind them--they weren't engaged, just idle--and attacked them from behind successfully without them turning around before my charge hit them. Very strange happenings indeed. It was this behavior that made me realize I may not have activated the script.

The scattering is common in TW, but you should start over.

I've had the occasional unit in EB scatter as well for no discernible reason. IIRC if you give them a new command, they'll reform.
