Hey guys. Status update: I'm quite busy IRL atm, and so am patiently waiting till the endless stream of DeI updates have cooled down before making a serious go at updating my submod. ETA unknown.
Aeimnestus was a Spartan, famous because he killed the Persian General Mardonius at the battle of Plataea.

    Ha, so true.

I just lost 4 generals between 2 consecutive battles. Rome 2 without his mod is no fun.

i agree, but slight with a slight change to your statement. DeI without this mod is no fun, Rome 2 without mods is unplayable.

oh, and whats up with the "rotating" units in vanilla DeI battles, annoying and it looks awful. they never hold a line, always rotating or re-positioning their ranks like retards

Double edged sword: I simply cannot play DeI without this mod....stuck in inactivity until it is updated. But when it is done, much more satisfying experience.

    Hoping it is out soon....

Not any more I don't think. You shall have to join us in our mouth-watering wait for a 0.8 compatible version. Doesn't help that DeI keeps updating and hasn't had a stable release in a while.

I've gotten used to standard DeI battles, but sometimes I miss the slower more tactical battles of this submod. it was really a different experience, and it was amazing having to actually work for a win, having to think and try to figure out "ok our lines are locked, how can I win this battle....". It felt like the battle was decided on tactics and formations rather than individual units beating each other.

I'd imagine from the prior statements that once the inevitable rush of .85b .85c etc has calmed down, then the submod will return [IRL schedules permitting].

I wonder if anyone could pick this up just to get it up to speed. This is probably the best submod in my opinion. I would do it but I would need some help. Took me days just to figure out how to get rid of forced march, which was really easy it turned out, but this is huge sub-mod and I would have no idea where to start.

I have been thinking the same thing. I am in the same boat as you, it seems very complicated to achieve what this mod has done. Maybe we can start a thread on the main page recruiting guys until the man himself returns to continue his good work.

well, the heart of the mod is in the unit stats, isn't it?

It would be tedious work, but I imagine going through and updating all unit stats to match Aiemnestus' changes would be a start.
