    Default New Exporter with 3d maxs, But what is motion Builder?

    I just downloaded, the Rome II Beta Assembly Kit, I have four questions. With the new Exporter can we make new model for Rome II, import previous ones, and where in the 3ds max 2013 file do you put the export script is them? And the Second Question is What Motion Builder can we make skeletons and animations?

    Motion Building is, as 3ds max and Maya, an Autodesk software.

    Maya is use to create 3d models as well as animations, same for 3ds max.
    Motion Builder is dedicated to character animations :

    All these software can be use for specific tasks in a model and animation workflow.

    For example, you can create a 3d model using 3ds max, then create its rigging model using Maya and finally, animated it using Motion Builder through a motion capture system.

    where can I download motion builder? and can I make animations working to export them in Rome 2? even without motion capture but using only pc.

    You can download Autodesk Software for free through Austodesk Education Community program.
    Here, you can download :

    • 3ds max
    • Maya
    • Motion Builder



    To create animation, you have several possibilities :

    1. create animation "by hand" using 3ds max and then export them into Maya and finally use animation exporter for Maya
    2. create animation "by hand" using Maya and use animation exporter for Maya
    3. create animation using motion capture system such as Kinect with 3ds max and then export them into Maya and finally use animation exporter for Maya
    4. create animation using motion capture system such as Kinect with Maya and use animation exporter for Maya
    5. create animations through Motion Builder, but I never used this software, so I will be of no help here.

    So how/where do we import RTW2 models into 3ds Max? if it's even possible yet.

    To export .rigid_model_v2 to .fbx file format, you will have to use Ultimate Unwrap 3d with its ETW plugin.
    But UU3D isn't free.
    So, it depends if you really want to invest yourself in modeling or if you only want to try.

    I think that UU3D is a good choice only if you plan to invest yourself in modding for a long period.

    Wasn't there a 3ds Max exporter in the Rome 2 assembly kit?

    CS2 exporter only allow to convert raw materials (.max and .xml files) to .CS2 file format.
    Then, BoB convert .CS2 into TW:R2 files formats needed (.rigid_model_v2, cs2.parsed, etc.)
