How do you edit army numbers now as this is now fame and in red?

It sounds like you just need to the latest PFM schema. At the moment that's 41, which you can grab from here. Drop the extracted files in to your PFM folder.

I can't edit either with version 3.8.1 installed. I could the very first time I opened data_rome2.pack but then it when red the next time I opened and never worked again. Everything else is no problem but fame_tables and I can't figure it out. Reinstalled it 2 or 3 times with no luck.

this was before patch nine and according to the link you sent me fame_tables should work
