Steam Medieval 2 Total War Doesn't Launch

Hey, so, my Medieval 2 Total War doesn't launch through Steam but, if I rename the medieval2.exe to Launcher it will launch but will not launch the normal Launcher, it will just skip to the intros, I can't play any mods because of that, not sure if the mods are directed to be launched on "medieval2.exe" but everytime I launch a mod or vanilla it launches a steam screen for 1 sec and disappears and nothing jappens. If someone has any solution or anything please answer

There is an alternate launcher for this on Steam's forums. It maybe worthwhile to do a search for it.

Have you got a link? I can't find it. Is 1.2 the most recent version of medieval 2?

For singleplayer, yes.
1.3 for multiplayer and will only show up when in a multiplayer campaign.

btw, I downloaded cine ed for vanilla m2tw, and everytime I lanch it, it opens the game. Anyway to fix it?

Can you tell me how to uninstall the game completely through steam? The regedit tutorial doesn't have any medieval 2 folder.

Steam version should have two folders.
One in Steam\Steamapps\Common.
The other is hidden in Users\Username\Appdata\Roaming\The Creative Assembly or close for Vista and Win 7.
Some with Win 8, the above but Local.
For XP, try Documents and Settings.

There's no The Creative Assembly in the Local Folder. I have windows 8.

1. Are you logged in as Administrator?
2. Have you unhid all files, folders, and drives in folder Options?
3. after the above in Computer's Search box, have you typed Medieval and see where they all go? In vista and its updates, it migrated from The virtual Store to roaming probably at least twice each before settling in Roaming. This one a Microsoft problem, not Steam or CA.

3 - It only shows up these folders related to medieval 2 (pretty sure it's not those though)

Okay, then.

If you installed the game in the default location, odds are tremendous that it does exist.

1. Disabled the UAC, yet?
2. Taken ownership/control of C: drive, yet? A good tutorial how even if dated.

Where's the security policy thing?

Right-click the C: drive icon, click Properties, click the Security tab.

I disabled UAC, I took ownership of C:, I still can't find the Folder.
