Check to see if it is set mute?
Speakers/headset plugged in?
Any mods installed you're trying to play?
clean install 100% no mods. not even the kingdoms mods
Did you uninstall the old one through the Control Panel, delete all traces, run a good free registry cleaner, and reboot before reinstalling?
Steam or dvd or other?
uhhhhhhhhhhhh i uninstalled through the start menu, i deleted the main folder, i don't have a registry cleaner & no i didn't restart my computer & i got the hard disk
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner seems to be a favorite.
What version of Windows?
You will have two folders to delete then if you installed with the UAC enabled and installed in default folder.
The second one is hidden and you have to unhide all files, folder, and drives in Folder Options to get there.
It will be in users\username\appdata\roaming\?. I haven't had this since the release of Vista so I don't know the rest of the path.
Post a pic of the roaming folder.

You're right unless Microsoft pulled a goody. they have at times.
What was your game's install location?
Do you have the UAC disabled?
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/ but same idea for 7.
did you install it in the default folder?
Wrong move for anything this old.
Uninstall and wipe anything to do with Medieval2 including the registry entries.
Log in as Administrator and leave it that way.
Leave the UAC disabled.
Install the game in C:\Games to get away from Microsoft's security BS.
Now do you have sound.
Oh yeah, after I had everything installed and patched, I set the icons to "Run as Administrator" and "XP Compatible" and deleted launcher.exe.
