Well I have made this for people who are stumped on who to be next like I am now. I was playing as macedon but that got boring fignting the spanish over and over again then rome blockading my ports. I want a faction that has good infantry and cav but not rome or the brittish. Maybe Carthage or someone similar to that I just cannot pick help me please!

I have always wanted to start a Bactrian campaign. I played them breifly during beta testing, and they have a great selection of units if you are able to tech up. Right away, I grabbed trade and allainces with Selucia and Parthia. Mainly because of the area involved. Trade income was low and the distance between my cities meant a travel time (over very rough terrian), of several years. In addition, Selucia has a tremendous army to start off with, and ports and such as well. Best target is Parthia. The have the same situation as Bactria. Landlocked, low-trade income, big Selucia on the border. There are also numerous rebel settlements to deal with, but again, if you mve your army east to deal with them, it will leave your western border wide open, and take many years to travel east and then return back.

    Its a very challenging faction.

my macedonian campaign is cool, i maintain hagemony just north of the balkans (aka i dominate the dacians and germans), steamrolled pontus, egypt and armenia (mostly), and its pretty cool being the dominant empire getting all involved in keeping the romans off my border heh.

Baktria is a pretty cool campaign, i started that, went to the wrong rebel provinces first and lost 2 of my early armies (thats a disaster for a faction like baktria) to damn elephant rebel armies. Eventually though once youve ovecome that and taken other rebel provinces, and play your cards right with the seluecids you find yourself able to literally stroll through asia taking seluecid cities at will, but after they are gone things become tough due to lack of fairly decent units - check out the last page of the "post ur empire" thread for details of that (its a bit outdated now but it'll do)

logistics is tough (space of cities from each other), the rebel qualities, your unit's qualities, lack of economy (i went into the red a couple of times) so trade agreements and keeping ur neighbours friendly is essential at the begining.

If youve done all the mainstream factions, try the baktrians
