Historical battle

I really never played the historical battles at all, but I was bored earlier today so I check a few of them out. One that I particularly liked was the Scipii vs 2 German armies battle, where you need to reach the fort. It starts off with about 5-6 legions 2 calvary and 2 archers marching down a road....sweet looking cutscene...battle starts and I pause it to give orders....Germans infantry are no match for mine. 1st battle is quite short I pretty much wipe out the entire 1st army that attacks me, I ran them down with my calvary as they routed. So I continue marching toward the city and as I get close to it, germanic calvary ambush me.

Now at this point I wasnt prepared, my formation was mixed up and I made the mistake of not organizing it earlier after the 1st battle. There calvary gets behind my legions while axemen attack from the sides...archers pelt me from the front.

I take my calvary around to the rear to engage the german calvary and send my legions after the axemen...german calvary gets cut down quite quickly and I take my calvary and attack the archers now. I own the 2nd army and march into the fort uncontested.

I really like these historical battles. cutscenes are sweet.

I suffered alot on that one because I made a mad dash with my General and left the army behind. Still won, just took alot of casulties....Don't ask me why I did, because I don't know.

I finished that battle. I took massive casualties and at the end, I only won because I managed to get my general and perhaps 30 soldiers into the fort. The germans were right on my tail. I had to sacrifice the bulk of my army to stall them.

Teutoburg forest.. One of my favourites in Rome. Actually I wanted to play it with germans. They completely destroyed three legions of romans. Must have been a bloody mess...

Hey snarf! play Carhhae if your really bored! Trebia is easy, i only commanded the cav to finish the romans!

Was carhae the one where you play as the romans on the edge of this river or something and the catrthaginians charge at you from the trees?

Its a sort of scoreboard where your results can be ranked against others.
