Few questions

Hey all, this might not be a pressing issue but still would be interested to know what you all think.

With the imminent release of Medieval 2 Total War ( Well still roughly a month but I been waiting for a new MTW since ye olde MTW and hearing about the new RTW engine ) My current PC is a grand 7 years old so yes as you can tell it aint in great gaming shape so got my eye on this:

Just wondering what you all think about how this would handle M2TW.

Another quick question (still related to the above link ) and this may be a silly question to some but I am a relative newb to the techy stuff.

Which of these is best?
1024MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7950 GX2
Dual 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7900 GT - SLI Enabled
Dual 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7900 GTX - SLI Enabled

Also if you could take a gander ( a look ) at the configuration page and tell me roughly what the cheapest combination of those would still run M2TW on high settings.

That is a lot so if people could just answer in little bits and try to build a total picture from all replies that would be superb.

This is best according to benchmarks: Dual 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7900 GTX - SLI Enabled

They say Alienware is pretty expensive, dont know though, it seems to be a masterrig...

If you want to get a new computer, either build one your self or get one from a cheaper place like Dell. Alienware's computers are wayyy overpriced.

And I would go with the Geforce 7950GX2 if I were you. Its not as good as the other 2 options but SLI may not work well on some games (like RTW).

Howdy Folks, been browsing a little more for PC thangs and was wondering if anyone could anyone tell me how this spec will run M2TW, or how you think it will run M2TW

Intel Pent. D 945 [ 2x 3.4 GHz ] 800 MHz FSB/2 x 2MB L2 Cache
2 GB ( 2048 mb ) DDR2 RAM
256MB Geforce 7600GT PCI Express + DVI + TV OUT

Just decided to type exactly what was on spec to make sure I got all the info in there.

Also on a side question is the Intel Pent. 4 better or worse than the Intel Pent. D, if someone could answer this as a side answer that would be great.

Well I really wouldnt get a Pentium, Core 2's are almost the same price and much better. You GPU is fine though dont expect it to breeze trhough MTW2 in high settings.

I was aiming more for medium settings to be honest, I don't have that big a budget to be honest, I am gonna be getting a new Pc and have £800 max so am very mix and match at the moment.

If only I could have those two. = )

Edit: Also for getting Core 2 instead, would that be two that add up to around 3.0 GHz or two that are both already 3.0 GHz, sorry for asking but I am really not in the know about these things.
